The Shearer Group Wins TxDOT Ferry Design Contract

The Shearer Group, Inc. (TSGI) said it was awarded a five-year Indefinite Deliverable contract with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to provide design, engineering and construction oversight services for a new 500 passenger, 70 car ferry providing service from Galveston Island to Bolivar Peninsula.

LR Energy Wins New Nuclear Deal in Middle East

Lloyd’s Register Energy together with Lightbridge Corporation has won a contract to support the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR) internal inspection team to provide construction oversight and related technical services for a new generation of nuclear power plant in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Lloyd’s Register Energy will be supporting FANR for several years on a series of work packages designed around project management, construction inspection and oversight services. These include design verification, inspection plans, quality assurance, and vendor inspection during site construction, installation and commissioning. FANR is the independent government body charged with regulating and licensing nuclear activities in the UAE.

Ecospeed to Coat EXMAR Caribbean FLNG

In order to tap into Colombian stranded gas reserves, Pacific Rubiales Energy Corporation and EXMAR nv have partnered in a project to build and operate a floating LNG liquefaction, and storage unit, the Caribbean FLNG, which will be stationed at a jetty several kilometers off the Caribbean coast of Colombia for at least 15 years. Bristol Harbor Group Designs Offshore Oil Towboat

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. designs towboat in support of offshore oil field development in Alaska. Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI), of Bristol, RI, was contracted by Northern Maritime Logistics, LLC of Anchorage, Alaska, for the design of both a towboat and the bow ramp for a new, USCG Inspected deck barge. Bristol Harbor Designs for New York Power Authority

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc., (BHGI), has reached the final design phase for an 80-ft x 34-ft x 5-ft Pedestal Crane Barge design for The New York Power Authority, (NYPA). The Pedestal Crane Barge, also known as a “Floating Crane,” is currently under construction at Great Lakes Shipyard in Cleveland, OH, where BHGI is also providing construction oversight services. BHGI began by conducting an initial on-site investigation of the ice boom, and the existing Ice Boom Work Barge, HAVASU - currently in use as a work platform for NYPA personnel during install & removal of the Lake Erie Ice Boom. This investigation included a detailed review of the HAVASU, current retrieval and removal procedures, and deviations considered for the new barge.

The new office, located at 4747 Bellaire Blvd., Bellaire, Texas, will allow Bristol Harbor to provide owner's representative and construction oversight services along the Gulf Coast more efficiently. Bristol Harbor has been providing owner's representative and construction oversight services to clients for over ten years, and is focused on owner's representation, project and program management, acquisition support, consulting, and traditional marine surveying. Tug & Barge Contracts - Bristol Harbor

Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was recently awarded two design jobs for two separate repeat clients from Puerto Rico. Harbor Bunkering Corporation has commissioned BHGI to design another double hull oil tank barge. BHGI has designed two barges for the San Juan bunkering business in the past. In 2004, BHGI designed the 30,000 BBLS double hull oil barge Enterprise for Harbor Bunkering Corporation, and in 2005 they designed a 60,000 BBLS barge that is still to be built.
