AdvanTec Launches Stock Door Program

AdvanTec Global Innovations, parent to the Diamond Sea Glaze (DSG), Steelhead Marine (SME), Pacific Coast Marine (PCM) and Freeman Marine Equipment (FME) brands, has launched a stock door program geared to the commercial marine market. The DSG 250 door in hinged and dutch configurations forms the backbone of the program and is supported by the FME 1212 door. These standard configuration doors, designed for the commercial marine market, are in stock and ready to be shipped or can be manufactured within a three-week lead time.

Moore Joins AdvanTec Global Innovations

AdvanTec Global Innovations, parent to the Diamond Sea Glaze, Steelhead Marine, Pacific Coast Marine and Freeman Marine Equipment brands, today announced the following business development appointment that will enhance the company’s ability to provide local representation to the marine industry. Charlie Moore assumes the position of Industry Specialist, Cranes/Yacht, with responsibility for business development and growth of the Steelhead and Pacific Coast Marine brands within the marine products portfolio. Moore brings over 20 years of marine experience working in shipyards and his own marine business and has worked at some of the most recognizable shipyards such as; Derecktor, Austal and Bradford Marine in production and management roles.

AdvanTec Consolidates PCM Manufacturing

AdvanTec Global Innovations has announced it will consolidate its Pacific Coast Marine (PCM) manufacturing operations into other AdvanTec manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada, effective July 31, 2014. "This move will expand PCM’s product capabilities," said AdvanTec CEO Paul Hill. PCM will continue to operate its sales and service hub out of the Greater Seattle Area. The PCM sales and service office remaining in the Seattle area will be managed by AdvanTec's Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Darren Loken."This evolution will help make our entire marine group more efficient," Loken said. Andrew Mund Named AdvanTec Marine Technical Director

Licensed Professional Engineer and Naval Architect Andrew Mund has been named AdvanTec Marine's Technical Director.In this role Mr. Mund will extend his commitment to the industry by expanding his offerings to a wider client base, leading marine engineering and design initiatives for all five of the companies that make up the AdvanTec Marine family:  Diamond Sea Glaze; Freeman Marine; Manly Marine; Pacific Coast Marine and Steelhead Marine. Mr. Mund's early career days were spent as a naval architect.

Piracy Protection Boat Launched by Zyvex Marine

Vessels of this design are to be deployed by private security firm for piracy protection off the coast of Africa. The advanced Long Range Vessel is designed for fuel efficiency and rough sea stabilization with a sprint speed over 40 knots and a range of over 1,500 nautical miles, more than three times the range of comparatively sized vessels. Global Maritime Security Solutions (GMSS), a leading maritime security company based in Dubai, will deploy the vessels for maritime security, including piracy protection, off the coast of Africa and surrounding areas.

Farid Wins Safety Award

Captain Zak Farid received Transport Canada's Marine Safety Award for 2007 in recognition of his contributions to Canadian marine safety. The award was presented in a brief ceremony held today in Ottawa, at the biannual meeting of the Canadian Marine Advisory Council. Captain Farid was a member of the Canadian Delegation to the International Maritime Organization for several years. He is well respected for his long-standing contributions to the work of the Canadian Marine Advisory Council. He is a fellow of the Nautical Institute, B.C. Branch and is chair of the Navigation Aids and Navigation Safety Sub-committee of the Pacific Coast Marine Review Panel. He is lead auditor conducting International Safety Management (ISM) Audits for B.C.
