Loy Stewart, Jr. is President, Detyens Shipyards. He is a 1991 graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point where he earned a degree in Marine Engineering. After several months sailing on the Sealift Atlantic, Loy began working at Detyens as a Ship Superintendent and coordinated work on numerous commercial and navy contracts. In 1996, when the Detyens Shipyards were divided into separate profit centers, Loy Jr. was promoted to Profit Center Manager of the Wando facility.

The DSG 250 door in hinged and dutch configurations forms the backbone of the program and is supported by the FME 1212 door. Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) has issued Certificates of approval for tank containers made of polymer composite materials (PCM) intended for transportation of aggressive media. The manufacturers of tank containers are JSC “Research and production corporation UralVagonZavod” / Uralcryomash JSC. Issuance of RS documents is a logical end of one and a half year activity of a group consisting of specialists from JSC “Research and production corporation UralVagonZavod” / Uralcryomash JSC where a series production of PCM containers is expected to be commenced, “STTC ApATech-Dubna” ltd. which is responsible for design of material and structure, Spectransgarant LLC - tank container company-operator and RS.

The LPG coaster shipping market continues to be plagued by excess vessel supply with rates remaining stubbornly below pre-financial crisis levels, according to the latest edition of the LPG Forecaster, published by global shipping consultancy Drewry. “Average 12-month LPG coaster time charter rates fell almost 15% between 2007 and 2014”, said Shresth Sharma, senior analyst, gas shipping at Drewry. “And in the case of smaller vessel classes such as coasters a small change in rates can have a significant impact on operator profitability”, continued Sharma.

Four Petrobras oil platforms off the northeast coast of Brazil have halted production after a leak of about 7,000 liters of oil was detected coming from a pipeline linking them, a local oil workers union head said on Friday. Brazil's oil regulator, ANP, confirmed the leak in the Camorim field, 16 kilometers (10 miles) off the coast of the city of Aracajú, and said it had already been contained by Petrobras. The director of the Sindipetro oil workers union for Alagoas/Sergipe Basin, Stoessel Chagas, said the leak was detected coming from a pipeline linking the PCM-5 and PCM-6 production platforms of Petroleo Brasileiro SA, as Petrobras is officially known. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

AdvanTec Global Innovations has announced it will consolidate its Pacific Coast Marine (PCM) manufacturing operations into other AdvanTec manufacturing facilities in the United States and Canada, effective July 31, 2014. Stealthgas Inc. has entered into an agreement to acquire its 28th LPG carrier, the M/V Batangas, for consideration of $9.4m with expected delivery in early July 2006. Batangas is a Fully-Pressurized (F.P.) LPG carrier built in Japan in 1995 with a capacity of 3,300 cubic meters (cbm). Upon delivery, it will be immediately deployed under a bareboat charter to a major gas trader at a rate of $106,000 per calendar month until July 2008.
