Two Ro-Pax Catamarans Under Construction in Indonesia for Abu Dhabi Ports

The Abu Dhabi Ports Group has commissioned Penguin Shipyard International and Incat Crowther to design and deliver two new 56-metre ro-pax catamaran passenger and vehicle ferries.The new vessels will be built by Penguin International in Indonesia and can transport up to 194 passengers and 25 vehicles.Replacing two older vessels in the Abu Dhabi Ports Group fleet, the new vessels will service Delma Island from Jebel Dhanna on the UAE mainland – a 42-kilometer route. Hybrid Crew Transfer Vessel WINDEA ONE Joins Orsted's North Sea Wind Farm Fleet

The first 32m parallel hybrid crew transfer vessel (CTV) designed by Incat Crowther for Emden-based EMS Maritime Offshore (EMO) has been delivered, with the vessel already servicing Germany’s offshore wind industry.According to Incat Crowther, WINDEA ONE is the world's first CTV to utilize Volvo Penta’s new parallel hybrid system together with IPS propulsion and can be operated in an all-electric mode for up to six hours.Built by Singapore's Penguin Shipyard International, under the designation WindFlex-32, WINDEA ONE is based on Incat Crowther’s proven 32-metre CTV model.

Singapore Orders Two More Fire and Rescue Vessels

Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) have yet again selected BMT and Singapore’s homegrown shipbuilder Penguin Shipyard International to design and build the next generation of fire and rescue boats called “MFV-R”. NYK's First Domestic CTV Named "Rera As"

Farra Marine Orders Seven New CTVs

Irish crew transfer vessel (CTV) owner and operator Farra Marine has expanded its fleet of CTVs after ordering another seven vessels from Singapore-based Penguin Shipyard International. The new CTVs are part of the WindFlex-27 series, and when complete will couble Farra Marine CTV fleet servicing the UK and European offshore wind industry. BMT, Penguin Commission Hybrid-electric Vessel for Singapore MPA

New Vessel Enters Service at Formosa 1 Wind Farm

A new 36-meter service accommodation transfer vessel (SATV) completed its sea trials program for owner Ventus Marine and charterer Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy and has commenced operations and maintenance activities on the Formosa 1 offshore wind farm project in Taiwan.The first-of-its-kind vessel was designed by BMT and built by Penguin Shipyard International. It is engineered to provide long-term offshore accommodation for 10 crew onboard for the 12 day offshore endurance, while still being able to push up against the turbine to transfer technicians.

BMT Unveils New Vessel Designs

BMT has introduced two vessel designs aimed at Taiwanese offshore wind operations.In March, BMT's Specialized Ship Design division attended an official keel laying ceremony for its new 36-meter service accommodation transfer vessel (SATV). BMT has partnered with high-speed commercial vessel builder Penguin Shipyard International (PSI) for the SATV as well as a new 26-meter crew transfer vessel (CTV).The SATV design aims to push the boundaries of wind farm servicing and maintenance activities to a whole new level and boost productivity, according to BMT.

BMT-Designed Flex Ferries Delivered in Singapore

A trio of 38-metre Flex Ferries, built by Singapore’s Penguin Shipyard International and designed by Southampton-based BMT Nigel Gee, have been delivered to their new owner, Horizon Ferries, following successful sea trials in Singapore. The BV-classed, Singapore-flagged monohull ferries – christened “Horizon 7”, “Horizon 8” and “Horizon 9” - are among only a handful of fully compliant high-speed “2000 HSC Code” monohull ferries to be designed and built in recent years. The vessels recently commenced operations between Singapore and the Indonesian island of Batam, a ferry route that is generally regarded as the most competitive in Southeast Asia.

BMT Nigel Gee Contracts Penguin for Three Ferries

BMT Nigel Gee (BMT), a subsidiary of BMT Group Ltd., announced its latest contract with Singapore-based Penguin Shipyard International Pte. Ltd., for the design of three 38-meter monohull high-speed passenger ferries for the busy Singapore-Indonesia ferry route. The shipbuilding subsidiary of Singapore-listed crewboat specialist Penguin International Limited recently signed a contract with Horizon Ferries Pte. Ltd. to build the three 238-passenger ferries, which will be deployed to run between Singapore and the Indonesian island of Batam.

Fast Crew Boat Design: BMT Wins Penguin Contract

BMT Group subsidiary, BMT Nigel Gee, contracted to design two 25-metre Fast Crew Boats for Penguin International Ltd. Penguin Shipyard International, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Singapore-based crewboat builder and operator, Penguin International Limited. Penguin is building the two BV classed, 70-passenger Fast Crew Boats for ARCO Marine and Oilfield Services for deployment in Nigeria’s offshore oil and gas industry. Delivery of the vessels is expected in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Penguin Delivers Crewboat

Delivered in October 2012, Penguin’s Flex-38S series crew boat, the MV Abba is fast and versatile. With capacity for up to 90 workers in reclining seats the boat also has an 80-square-meter open deck with a 55-ton capacity. The deck is strengthened for up to two MT per square meter. At 38 x7.6 m(124.7 x 25-feet) with a molded depth of 3.65 m (aprox. 12 feet) this is a big boat built to Penguin Shipyard International Pte Ltd’s proprietary design. The boat is designed to carry robust cargos at optimum speeds.

Penguin Delivers its First FLEX‐38 Green Crewboat

Miclyn Express Offshore Takes Delivery

Following on the delivery of three 120-ft. (36-meter) crew boats in 2007 and early 2008, Miclyn Express Offshore has taken delivery of the Express 61. This 90-passenger crew boat is the fourth of the consecutively named Panamanian-registered vessels among the firm’s fleet. The Express 61, like itssisters, is powered by three 1350 hp Cummins KTA38 M2 main engines turning into Twin Disc MGX6690DC gears. With a total of 4050  hp, the BV-classed boats have a 21-knot cruising speed and a 26-knot maximum speed. Auxiliary power includes two Cummins 6BT5.9 DM powered generators.

Penguin Marine Delivers

In late March of this year, Penguin Shipyard International Pte Ltd of Singapore delivered the 118-ft. crew boat Bayou Tiram to a company of the same name, Bayou Tiram Sdn Bhd of West Malaysia. With a molded beam of 25 ft. the high-speed aluminum craft has a 57 x 18 ft. open after deck affording 810.5 sq. ft. of cargo space. Accommodation for a crew of eight, with four cabins, a galley and mess room, dry store and laundry room, is built into a forward section of the 12 ft. deep hull. Seating for 50 passengers is provided in the main deck level of the cabin and includes a passenger toilet and a VIP/hospital cabin with a bunk. Main engines for the boat are three KTA38 M2 engines each generating 1350 hp at 1900 RPM and turning 1200x1625 m/m propellers through Twin Disc MG6848 marine gears.
