The U.S. Coast Guard medevaced the captain off of a cargo ship approximately 25 miles off the coast of Ocean City, Md., Tuesday.Crewmembers aboard the Panamanian flagged cargo ship Balsa 84, which was in route to the Delaware Bay area, contacted watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay's command center at approximately 10:20 a.m. and notified them that the 61-year-old Filipino man was exhibiting symptoms of a possible heart attack and needed medical assistance.Watchstanders launched an aircrew aboard an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Air Station Atlantic City to assist.Once on scene…

The Coast Guard medevaced a 27-year-old crewmember Saturday from a fishing boat approximately 40 miles east of Chincoteague, Virginia Coast. The master of the fishing boat Kirsten Lee contacted Coast Guard Sector Hampton Roads watchstanders at 11:15 a.m. Saturday stating a crewmember was suffering from chest pain and needed medical attention. Sector watchstanders launched a crew aboard an MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth City, North Carolina, to assist. The helicopter crew arrived on scene at approximately 1:40 p.m. hoisted the man and took him Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland. USCG

A Coast Guard helicopter crew rescued a 50-year-old woman this afternoon who was reportedly suffering acute abdominal pains while aboard a fishing vessel about 60 miles east of Ocean City, Md. The Coast Guard was contacted by the master of the Ink Mist, a 48-foot sportfishing vessel, and was notified that one of the three people aboard, Bernedette Walser of Villas, N.J., was suffering from the ailment. The Coast Guard directed the launch of a 47-foot motor lifeboat crew from Station Ocean City and an HH-65C Dolphin rescue helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City. Once on scene, the rescue helicopter crew lowered their aviation survival technician, or rescue swimmer, to the deck of the Ink Mist.
