Mossel Bay Port Ready to Serve Total

South Africa’s smallest commercial port, the Port of Mossel Bay is well equipped to provide value following global energy giant Total’s significant gas condensate discovery on the Brulpadda prospects, located on Block 11B/12B in the Outeniqua Basin, 175 kilometres off the southern coast of South Africa, announced Transnet National Ports Authority (TNPA).The authority has dispelled criticism that it may not be ready to answer the call for capacity necessitated by the recent discovery of vast amounts of gas condensate about 175 kilometres south of Mossel Bay.Mossel Bay Port Manager Shadrack Tshikalange said the port’s role in the drilling expedition involved providing land and quay space for the logistics base operations…

Saldanha Bay Could be S.Africa's First LNG Import Terminal

Gas seen as key to help resolve power crisis; gas could be sourced from Nigeria, Angola, Mozambique. South Africa could build its first 20 billion rand ($1.4 billion) liquefied natural gas (LNG) import facility at the west coast port of Saldanha Bay to feed gas-to-power projects aimed at easing chronic supply shortages, an official said on Tuesday. Importing LNG is among the options Africa's most developed economy is considering to diversify its energy sources away from coal and ease power shortfalls that have curbed growth. Several companies, including Shell, Mitsubishi and Sasol, are expected to bid for 3,126 megawatt (MW) gas-to-power projects in the first quarter of 2016, when exact details will become known.

Wood Group Kenny Wins Ghana Contract for Subsea Engineering

Wood Group Kenny (WGK) has been awarded an engineering services contract to support Tullow Ghana Limited and its partners through the execution phase of the Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme (TEN) project, offshore Ghana. WGK will provide subsea, umbilical, risers, flowlines (SURF) engineering services. The Tweneboa, Enyenra and Ntomme oil fields are situated in the Deepwater Tano area, offshore Ghana, approximately 30 kilometres from the existing Jubilee field. New North Sea CNR Contract Requires Second Harkand Vessel

Subsea inspection, repair and maintenance (IRM) group Harkand says it is to position a second dive support vessel in the burgeoning North Sea sector after securing a major contract with CNR International (CNRI). EnerGulf Update Block 1711 Offshore Namibia

EnerGulf Resources Inc. announced that the Operating Committee for Block 1711 met in Windhoek, Namibia and has approved a "Work Program" for Year 1 of the Exploration License renewal. The work program will commence immediately and is designed to fully evaluate the results of the Kunene #1 well and analyze their impact on the block. Golar and Bluewater Partner in Bid for Offshore FSRU Project

Golar LNG announced that it has agreed to partner with Bluewater Energy Services B.V in bidding for an offshore LNG FSRU opportunity with 's national oil company, PetroSA. Golar and Bluewater will be equal partners in a joint venture formed specifically for this opportunity. Additionally, and in conjunction with this bid, Golar and Bluewater have agreed to acquire the 1977 built Moss type 126,000 m3 LNG Carrier, Hoegh Gandria. The vessel is intended to be used as the converted offshore FSRU. The Bluewater group of companies has built a technological lead specializing in lease and operation of tanker-based Production and Storage (FPSO/FSO) systems, and has become a leading provider of advanced Single Point Mooring (SPM) systems.
