Sunken Barge Raised from Gulf of Mexico Seafloor

A sunken derrick barge has been raised from the Gulf of Mexico seafloor following several months of planning, engineering, on-site preparations and the heaviest salvage lift ever accomplished in the Americas, said marine services and wreck removal specialists Resolve Salvage and Fire Americas.The 350 ft x 100 ft derrick barge DB1 sank 30 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on October 22, 2017, when adverse weather caused it to drag anchors and contact the offshore platform that the DB1 was engaged in removing.

Olympic Pact with Canyon Offshore

Norwegian offshore shipping company Olympic Shipping has entered into a frame agreement with Canyon Offshore for the joint marketing and subsequent operation of the subsea construction vessel (SCV) Olympic Athene and Canyon’s ROV systems. Under the agreement the companies will work together to secure utilization for the vessel and ROV systems and services with third party clients. The framework agreement will operate initially for six months, with the potential to be evergreen thereafter. According to Olympic, the Olympic Athene has started its first job with a third party client in the U.S. Gulf under this agreement. Under this agreement, the Olympic Athene, formerly known as Olympic Boa, has already started its first job in the U.S. Gulf.

Gazprom Building up Resource Base

In 2014 Gazprom Group (excluding Gazprom Neft) performed exploratory drilling of above 125,000 m of rocks, constructed 32 prospecting and exploratory (7 and 25 accordingly) wells. Over six thousand linear kilometers of 2D seismic profiles were processed, 3D seismic survey covered in excess of 11 thousand square kilometers. In the Russian Federation, prospecting drilling was performed across an area of more than 112 thousand meters of rocks. 30 prospecting and exploratory (24 exploratory and 6 prospecting) wells were constructed. Above six thousand linear kilometers of 2D seismic profiles were processed, 3D seismic survey covered the area of above 11 thousand square kilometers.

Crowley Acquires Ship Management Company

Crowley Maritime Corporation announced today that it has acquired majority ownership of Accord Ship Management (HK) Limited and Accord Marine Management Pvt. Ltd. The Accord acquisition will be managed by Crowley’s ship management group, which provides all phases of commercial ship management along with full technical management and government contracting. It will immediately increase the size and scope of Crowley’s technical ship management group while supporting the company’s expansion into the international ship management market with a foreign crewing presence. The acquisition also makes Crowley a rare U.S. company - one that provides third-party international crewing and technical ship management.

Greencarrier Shipping & Logistics AS said it is planning to expand its services to the oil and gas industry, appointing a new head of the energy and projects business unit and opening an office in Stavanger, Norway. Crowley Raises Market Funds Mainly for Newbuild Program

Crowley Maritime Corporation has successfully raised gross proceeds of $200 million through the sale of 200,000 shares of Series A Income Preferred Securities. The company says it intends to use the net proceeds from this offering in connection with its new vessel build program as well as for general corporate purposes. “We are very pleased to have concluded this important transaction for the company, especially as it offers a new source of capital to pursue our growth plans,” said Crowley's Chairman, President and CEO Tom Crowley. DNB Markets acted as exclusive financial advisor to Crowley. DNB Markets and Incapital acted as joint book-running managers for the offering.

Crowley Maritime Corporation christen 'Ocean Wave' & 'Ocean Wind' built at Bollinger Shipyards, based in Amelia, La. USA. The new tugboats were designed by Crowley subsidiary Jensen Maritime located in New Orleans. At 146 and 156 feet in length, and with a minimum bollard pull of 150 metric tons, Crowley’s new ocean class tugs will be outfitted for long-range, high-capacity ocean towing, rig moves, platform and floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit tows, emergency response and firefighting.

Todd Busch: SVP and General Manager, Technical Services at Crowley Maritime Corporation. Todd Busch joined Crowley as an ordinary seaman in 1986, earning his masters’ license working aboard company tugboats before coming ashore in 1994 as a tug dispatcher. Since then, he has held a variety of positions with increasing responsibility within the firm. Today, the 24-year Crowley veteran is a member of the company’s senior leadership team, reporting directly to Crowley CEO Tom Crowley.
