Veson Nautical (Veson), a maritime freight management solutions provider, said Tuesday it planned to acquire vessel valuation provider VesselsValue. Partners to Produce Bio-LNG as Marine Fuel

Three companies from very different sectors have joined forces to achieve a decentralized production of bio-LNG designated for use as a clean marine fuel. The partners Attero, Nordsol and Titan met at the site for the plant – located at the facility of waste processor Attero in Wilp, the Netherlands – where the final investment decision was made and where building can now begin.The FirstBio2Shipping project is set to deliver the first bio-LNG in early 2024. The plant will produce around 2,400 tons/year of bio-LNG (or liquefied biomethane).

Manor to Build Offshore Wind Service Vessel for Mainprize

UK-based shipbuilder and marine services provider Manor Marine has won an order to build a multi-role offshore wind farm service vessel.The 26-meter Supa Swath catamaran, designed by Walker Marine Design, was ordered by Mainprize Offshore. Manor Marine expects to deliver it in the second quarter of 2022.This will be the sixth crew transfer vessel constructed by Manor Marine, but the first vessel built for Mainprize Offshore.It will feature a Supa-Swath hull form, with a 175m2 of deck space…

Bollinger Delivers New Bayou Teche Flood Gate

Bollinger Shipyards said it has delivered the Bayou Teche flood gate to St. Mary Parish Levee District. The steel flood gate—measuring 84 feet long, 40 ft wide and 19 feet high—is designed for a 25-year rain event and to provide flood risk reduction for a 10-foot storm surge. The gate is the heart of the Bayou Teche Flood Control Structure project announced in January of this year.The Bayou Teche Flood Control Structure is designed to reduce the risk of heavy rain event and hurricane storm surge flooding when water comes through the Charenton Canal into Bayou Teche.

Today’s desalination plants are rugged, durable and highly automated to meet the demands of operators and the crew, enabling them to meet schedule and mission with ample potable water production.In the days of old, marine distilling plants – then mostly steam – relied on archaic flash evaporators, which used steam to heat, power an air ejector, and ultimately create a vacuum whereby seawater would flash or boil and ultimately be distilled. Crowley Completes Challenging Fuel Delivery in the Arctic

Crowley said it overcame a number of challenges to lighter and deliver nearly four million gallons of military specification fuel to Eareckson Air Station on the Aleutian Island of Shemya in Alaska.Shemya’s radar and aircraft refueling station, Eareckson Air Station, and the 180 service members, contractors and civilians who operate it rely on Crowley’s twice-yearly fuel deliveries to supply fuel required for incoming aircraft for the Defense Logistics Agency, U.S. Coast Guard, Air Force and other state and federal agencies.

Fussey Engineering Backs Hornsea 2

Keppel Delivers TSHD Sanderus to Jan De Nul

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) delivered the 6000m3 Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger (TSHD) Sanderus to Jan De Nul Group.The Ultra-Low Emission vessel (ULEv) is the fourth dredger that Keppel O&M has delivered to Jan De Nul Group.According to a press release from the shipbuilder, this follows the delivery of three 3500m3 TSHDs earlier this year, all ULEvs and the world's first European Union (EU) Stage V dredgers. Keppel O&M is also currently building Ortelius, a 6000m3 dredger which is identical to the Sanderus, for Jan De Nul Group, with delivery expected in 1Q 2020.Sanderus is fitted with a two-stage filtering technique for exhaust gases.

Unifeeder Acquires Feedertech

Denmark’s Short-sea operator Unifeeder , part of the global port operator DP World, has acquired a 77% stake in The Feedertech Group, a Singapore-based feeder and shortsea operator.The Group’s Chairman, Ali Maghami, will retain the remaining 23% shareholding.Established in 2003, the Group operates two companies; Feedertech, which is a feedering service and Perma, a regional shortsea network. Both operate in the same market and connect the fast-growing trade route of Asia-Middle East via the Indian Subcontinent.The Group generates annual revenue of close to $200m from a diversified customer mix, calls at 50 ports and transports over 600k TEU annually.“The Feedertech Group has enjoyed great success over the years and we are proud of our achievements.

Gulf Island to Build Navy Vessels

Gulf Island Fabrication (GIFI), an American manufacturer of specialized structures and marine vessels used in the energy sector, announced that it received an award for the construction of two additional towing, salvage and rescue ships (T-ATS) for the U.S. Navy.The award represents the Navy’s execution of its second and third options for Gulf Island’s construction of three T-ATS vessels that will be built in the Company’s shipyard in Houma, Louisiana. Largest Chinese-built FSRU Delivered

PaxOcean’s Zhoushan Shipyard has delivered a 26,000m3 floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) Karunia Dewata to Indonesia-based Jaya Samudra Karunia (JSK). The FSRU is the largest to be built in China and will be capable of regasifying around 50 million standard cubic feet per day.The project marks a milestone for China's growing gas shipping industry and will help increase the development of Indonesia’s gas supply chain, where the unit will be based. The unit is also the first FSRU that PaxOcean has built.
