Domiat Salvage Completed

Multraship Salvage has just completed the successful salvage of the 38,391dwt bulk carrier Domiat which ran aground near Copenhagen at the beginning of June this year. The LR-classed vessel was loaded with 33,000 tons of potash, bound from St. Petersburg to India, when it ran aground at speed on a rocky shoal. Commenting on the salvage Multraship’s managing director Leendert Muller said :”This was a tricky job given the lack of suitable discharge equipment available in the area to handle the cargo on site. We were able to mobilize teams from Terneuzen and to get the job done with no pollution or leakage. The ship is now reloaded and on its way.
