HydroWing Unveils Plans for Tidal Energy Project in Wales

HydroWing is gearing up for deployment of its tidal energy technology, following the recent announcement that it has been awarded a contract for a 10MW tidal stream energy project in Wales.HydroWing was the largest tidal stream project in Wales to be successful in the UK government’s latest Contracts for Difference round. The project will be located at the Morlais tidal energy site in Anglesey, which is managed by the social enterprise Menter Môn. HydroWing, Tocardo Working on Tidal-Energy-to-Hydrogen Project

UK-based HydroWing and Dutch tidal energy developer Tocardo are working on a solution that will convert tidal energy into hydrogen, store it and offload it - similar to an FPSO in the oil and gas industry - to overcome the intermittency as well as the transportation issues.The concept called the THyPSO (Tidal Hydrogen Production, Storage and Offloading) includes a floating platform housing 1 – 6 conventional bi-directional tidal turbines converting the tidal flows into electricity…

Calecore Purchases Geotechnical Drilling Rig

Earlier this year Calecore took investment from Netherlands based investment company VEP. VEP’s equity position sees the board of Calecore unchanged but the drill rig purchase is viewed as just the start of bringing significant and key assets to the balance sheet. Calecore Buys Geotechnical Rig for 'Highland Spirit'

Calecore Directors Sarah Cashmore, Steven Lloyd and Richard Parkinson announce purchase of a geotechnical drilling rig for their DP2 vessel 'Highland Spirit', and also that the company has secured a third month rotation for the Kara Sea project in the Russian Arctic. Calecore Appoints Logan McLennan as Regional Manager

Building on their rapid growth and to support its international fleet activity, Calecore will be adding Singapore to its UK, Norway and Russian bases. Launching to coincide with a corporate event later this month for the Singapore F1 Grand Prix, the South East Asian hub will be actively promoting and servicing our ‘total’ Geophysical and Geotechnical Offshore Site Survey solutions from October.
