Two Maersk Jack-up Rigs in for Reapir
Semco Maritime has welcomed the recent arrival of two Maersk Drilling high specification jack-up rigs to its Invergordon shipyard facility. Maersk Reacher will be berthed in the Queens Dock facility for an undisclosed duration, carrying out necessary upgrades and modifications, whilst the recently constructed Maersk Highlander, following arrival by heavy lift from Singapore, will be at quayside for a short time, carrying out various commissioning tasks prior to naming ceremony and thereafter, mobilization out to the CULZEAN development in the U.K. sector North Sea, on long term contract.
MCSS, EMP Enter Sales and Support Agreement
Sales and technical support agreement signed for Singapore and Myanmar. Eco Marine Power (EMP) announced that it has entered into a sales and support agreement with MINs Control Systems Solution Pte. Ltd. (MCSS) to sell and support EMP's renewable energy solutions for shipping in Singapore and Myanmar. These solutions include marine solar power systems and the Aquarius Management & Automation System (MAS). The Aquarius MAS is an alarm handling, performance monitoring and data logging platform suitable for a wide range of ships which can also be integrated with renewable energy solutions.
SOR Switches Certified for SIL Environments
SOR® pressure and level switches are certified for use in IEC 61508 SIL applications. SOR announced today that the company’s line of pressure, differential pressure, temperature, vacuum and level switches have been certified fit for use in SIL (Safety Integrity Level) environments. SOR is one of only a few manufacturers in the industry to offer its entire range of switches certified to IEC 61508 safety standard. To obtain SIL certification, the products were assessed by FM Approvals per the requirements of IEC 61508 Parts 1, 2, and 3. When implementing Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) in process plant environments such as power plants, offshore oil platforms, refineries and chemical plants, the SIL certification helps mitigate risk at the process instrument level.
Emerson Wins Contract with Golar LNG
Emerson Process Management has won a contract from Golar LNG to supply PlantWeb digital automation architecture for basic process control and safety systems on the Golar Freeze, a floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) vessel. Currently an LNG carrier, the Golar Freeze will be converted into a floating terminal, and docked at a purpose-built jetty in the Jebel Ali Port near Dubai, UAE. Golar will operate the vessel. Dubai Supply Authority (Dusup) will operate the jetty and the high pressure export line into Dubai to supply needed gas during high energy demand months in the summer.
