Far East, South America Service Upgrade

To further improve the service quality and to cater for the market growth Maersk Line together with service partner Hamburg Süd are pleased to announce the following changes to our service network. We are currently phasing in the SAMMAX and Santa class vessels in the current ASAS service. These vessels are custom built for this trade with a nominal capacity of 7500 teu and 1700 plugs. In conjunction with this upgrade we will open a 2nd service as from July. This will make up the most comprehensive coverage in the trade and is further strengthened by our networks in Asia and Latin America.

Hamburg Süd, Maersk Line Second Sling to Asia

After reducing their joint Asia – South Africa/South America East Coast Service in the slack season to one sling, Hamburg Süd and Maersk Line will again be adding a second sling to their service concept with effect from July 2011. With this move, the service partners wish to further improve their service quality and take account of heightened demand in the peak season in this trade. The two slings are designed to be mutually complementary and provide the comprehensive service package in this trade – with a broad array of connections to both company’s networks in Asia…
