Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics Acquires Unitrans

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics acquires the forwarding company Unitrans. “By this takeover we strengthen our position as a logistics company, both in Sweden and on the global market”, says Björn Eklund, owner of Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics. By the acquisition Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics expands its’ capacity mainly within road transports and at the same time, growing with a visible presence in the south of Europe. The acquisition is part of the company’s investment in strategical growth, which includes plans for more business acquisitions.

Sundblad is MD, Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics

Pär Sundblad becomes the new Managing Director of Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics. He joined the company in 2015 as a Business Development Manager. From November 1st 2016 he has taken over the role as Managing Director of Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics. Sundblad has 23 years of experience in both container and break bulk carriers. “Pär has a strong customer perspective and customer satisfaction is something that always comes first. Höegh Names SSL as its Agent in Finland

Höegh Autoliners appointed Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics, which has already worked with the Norwegian ocean carrier in Sweden and Norway for several years, as its agent in Finland, effective Dec. 1., 2015. SSL is opening a branch office in Helsinki and has recruited Petri Kalkkinen as General Manager. Kalkkinen has many years of experience working as an agent for Höegh in Finland. “This new office will enable us to strengthen our organisation and business in the Finnish market,” says SSL Managing Director Joachim Lagerstedt. Höegh Autoliners is a specialist supplier to the automotive industry and other sectors which require ro-ro and breakbulk services.

SSL, Streamlines Join Forces in Nordic, Baltic Regions

StreamLines, a specialist carrier between Europe and the Caribbean and from the Caribbean, Colombia and Costa Rica to Europe, has appointed Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics as its agent in Norway, Denmark, Finland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The two companies have been working together in Sweden since January 2014 and now expand the cooperation and partnership to a much wider range of countries. StreamLines offers two weekly services between Europe and the Caribbean and one weekly service from above areas into Europe, with extensive transhipment options at either end. It carries breakbulk, automobiles, yachts/boats and machinery and also specialise in temperature controlled cargoes.

Kestrel Liner Agencies, SSL Extend Logistics Cooperation

Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics (SSL) and Kestrel Liner Agencies / Tropical Shipping have agreed to extend their cooperation to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. SSL will add these countries to Sweden, Norway and Finland where it already acts as representative agent for Kestrel and Tropical. Kestrel and Tropical Shipping specialize in services to and from the Americas, with offices throughout both North and Latin America. Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics AS is changing its name to Greencarrier Shipping & Logistics AS with effect from 2, September 2013. Greencarrier Group, one of the Nordic region’s largest privately-owned transport companies, acquired Scandinavian Shipping & Logistics in 2011 as part of its long- term strategy to expand its services, both in the region and globally. Fleet Privatizations Expected Soon For Lithuanian Companies

Following are financial details of a planned fleet privatization in Lithuania. JSC Klaipeda Transport Fleet (KTF) is one of the largest Lithuanian shipping companies, whose principal activities are transportation of refrigerated cargo by sea and lease of sea transport vessels. The authorized capital of the company as of December 31, 2001 amounted to about $38.3 million. KTF owns and operates 16 small- and medium-sized cargo reefers. The main cargo handled by the company includes frozen fish, meat, chicken, butter, fruits and vegetables. The capacity of KTF's vessels is from 85,000 to 470,000 cu. ft., the average capacity - 189,000 cu. ft. The total capacity of the fleet is 85,664 cu. m. According to this class of vessels, the company's fleet is the fourth largest fleet in the world.
