Norwegian's First Prima Class Cruise Ship Delivered

Norwegian Prima, the first of six vessels from Norwegian Cruise Line’s (NCL) new Prima Class of ships was delivered at Fincantieri's shipyard in Marghera on Friday.Along with her sister-ships, Norwegian Prima will form the backbone of the future NCL fleet, at more than 142,500-tons, almost 300 meters long, and accommodating 3,215 guests. Norwegian Signs Fleet-wide Antifouling Contract

Seven Seas Voyager has been applied with Nippon Paint Marine’s A-LF-Sea hull coating as part of a fleet-wide agreement with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (Norwegian)

Nippon Paint Marine has signed a long-term supply contract with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to provide antifouling systems to 13 cruise ships operating under the Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises brands.The agreement, signed late last year, will see the coatings specialist apply its market-leading low-friction SPC antifouling, A-LF-Sea, to six Oceania vessels, five Regent Seven Seas Cruises vessels and Norwegian Cruise Lines ships Norwegian Epic and Norwegian Dawn.A-LF Sea has already been applied in eleven drydocks while three vessels…

Fincantieri Delivers Seven Seas Splendor

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri announced it has delivered Seven Seas Splendor for US-based Regent Seven Seas Cruises.The Ancona-built ultra-luxury cruise ship is the second Fincaantieri has delivered for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a Norwegian Cruise Line brand. The newbuild is the fifth-all-suite vessel in Regent’s fleet.Like sister ship Seven Seas Explorer, delivered by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente (Genova) shipyard in 2016, Seven Seas Splendor is 55,000 gross tons, 224 meters long and is able to accommodate 750 passengers on board in 375 suites all including private balconies.

Fincantieri Launches Seven Seas Splendor

Regent Seven Seas Cruises (RSSC) launched its second extra-luxury cruise ship Seven Seas Splendor at the Ancona plant of Fincantieri. RSSC is brand of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd (NCLH) group.According to a press note from the Italian shipbuilding company, the delivery of Seven Seas Splendor, the sister ship to Seven Seas Explorer,  is scheduled for 2020.Like her sister ship Seven Seas Explorer, delivered by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente (Genova) shipyard in 2016, “Seven Seas Splendor” will be 55,000 gross tonnes with accommodation for 750 passengers. Last January Fincantieri has received an order from NCLH for a third unit of the series, which will be delivered in 2023.The construction process will implement the latest environmental-friendly technologies.

Shipbuilding: Fincantieri signs $542M Cruise Ship Deal

Positive momentum in the cruise sector continues, as Fincantieri signed a $543M contract with Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd.  for the construction of one new ultra-luxury cruise ship for the Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand to be delivered in 2023.The new vessel will be a sister ship to “Seven Seas Explorer”, which took the sea in 2016, and to “Seven Seas Splendor”, due to delivery in 2020. With about 54,000 tons, the unit will be able to accommodate up to 750 guests on board and she will be the brand’s sixth-all-suite vessel in Regent’s fleet. As her sister ships, the new vessel will be built using the very latest environmental protection technologies.

Fincantieri to Build Two New Ships for Norwegian's Oceania Cruises

The largest shipbuilder in Europe Fincantieri and the US Group Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. signed a contract for the construction of two new generation cruise ships for the Oceania Cruises brand, with delivery scheduled respectively in 2022 and 2025, which will start the “Allura-Class”.The agreement has an overall value exceeding 1 billion euros.With about 67,000 tons and the capacity of accommodating approximately 1,200 passengers on board, these units will be the new flagships of Oceania Cruises future fleet, for which the Group has built in 2011 and 2012 respectively “Marina” and “Riviera” at the Sestri Ponente (Genoa) yard.“We…

Fincantieri's Ancona Lays Keel for Seven Seas Splendor

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri has held a keel laying ceremony for Seven Seas Splendor, the second cruise ship being built for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a brand of the Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings. The ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard on June 28, 2018. The delivery is scheduled for 2020. The ceremony was attended, among others, by Jason Montague, President and CEO of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, who was welcomed by Giovanni Stecconi, the Fincantieri Ancona yard manager. Like her sister ship “Seven Seas Explorer”, delivered by Fincantieri at the Sestri Ponente (Genova) shipyard in 2016, the new vessel will be 55,000 gross tonnes with accommodation for 750 passengers. She will be built using the very latest in environmental protection technologies.

First Steel Cut for Seven Seas Splendor

Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri held a steel cutting ceremony in Ancona marking the official start of construction on Seven Seas Splendor, a new ultra-luxury cruise ship for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings brand Regent Seven Seas Cruises. The new vessel is scheduled to be delivered in early 2020, following Seven Seas Explorer delivered by the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Genoa in June 2017. The 55,500-gross-ton Seven Seas Splendor will be 224 meters long and accommodate 754 passengers on board in 375 spacious suites.

Piraeus Welcomes Maiden Call from Seven Seas Explorer

Piraeus Port Authority welcomed an inaugural call from Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ newest vessel on 12 October, as the luxury ship made its inaugural call to the Greek port with around 750 passengers and 650 crew members.    To mark the occasion, representatives from the port authority presented the ship’s master, Vasta Rosario Giovanni, with a commemorative plaque and books for the ship’s library.   Regent Seven Seas Cruises' cruise ship which is 224 meters long  was built in July 2016 and this summer makes cruises in the Aegean.   It is noted that in October the cruise calls in Piraeus, a hospitable and safe port in eastern Mediterranean, are continued with the same growth rate as from the beginning of the year (15-20%).

Panama Canal Readies for Cruise Season

Cruise ship Coral Princess is slated to transit the Panama Canal on a voyage from Los Angeles, Calif., to the U.S. East Coast on October 4, 2016, officially kicking off the canal’s 2016-2017 cruise season, which according to the Panama Canal Authority will see more than 230 cruise ships pass through the Panama Canal. “We expect the major cruise lines will use the Panama Canal route during the cruise season, which lasts until April 2017,” said international trade specialist Albano Aguilar of the Vice Presidency for Planning and Business Development.

Royals on the High Seas!

Regent Seven Seas Explorer is billed as the most luxurious cruise ship in the world. Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco took the role of godmother. Dubbed as the ‘most luxurious ship ever built’, at a whopping cost of $450 million, Regent Seven Seas Explorer boasts one of the highest space ratios and lowest guest to cruise ratios in the history of cruising. Accompanied by her husband and Monaco's reigning monarch, Prince Albert II, the former Olympic swimmer  took the role of godmother and cut a red velvet ribbon. “It is an honor to be the godmother of this magnificent ship, Seven Seas Explorer," Princess Charlene of Monaco said.

Seven Seas Explorer, the newest ultra luxury ship of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, a brand of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, was delivered at Fincantieri’s shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Genoa. A sister ship is on order and will be delivered in 2020. Seven Seas Explorer is the flagship of the fleet with its approximately 55,200 gross metric tons, 223 meters in length and is able to accommodate 750 passengers in 375 suites. According to the builder, the interiors are particularly sophisticated, with every attention paid to passenger comfort.

Norwegian Orders New Cruise Ship from Fincantieri

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) has ordered a second ultra-luxury cruise ship for its Regent Seven Seas Cruises brand from shipbuilder Fincantieri, in an agreement worth €422 million.   The new 54,000-gross-metric-ton and 223-meter-longt vessel, to be delivered in 2020, will be a sister ship to Seven Seas Explorer presently under construction at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente, Genoa.   According to the shipbuilder, the new cruise ship’s interiors will be particularly sophisticated, with particular attention to passenger comfort. The ship will include approximately 370 suites and will be built using the latest environmental protection technologies.    Fincantieri said the construction contract is effective immediately and all conditions have been met.

Regent Seven Seas Refurbs Three Ships

Top luxury cruise line Regent Seven Seas Cruises says it's investing $125 million to renovate three of its ships. Beginning with Seven Seas Navigator (built in 1999)  this spring, the public spaces and suites of the Regent fleet will be updated to match the style of the new Seven Seas Explorer, which is scheduled to launch this July. Regent says the update will provide guests with a consistent look and feel across all of the line's ships. The Seven Seas Voyager will be refit in late 2016 and Seven Seas Mariner in the spring of 2017. “Seven Seas Navigator is one of our most beloved ships, so it’s fitting that she is the first to undergo this extraordinary refurbishment,” said Jason Montague, president and chief operating officer for Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

Seven Seas Explorer Spaciously Intimate

The cruise ship being billed as "the most luxurious ship ever built" will also feature some of the largest cabins  and balconies afloat. The suites on the Seven Seas Explorer, a cruise ship coming next summer, will be distinguished by some of the largest balconies at sea said Jason Montague, president of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. Through August 2015, the 750-passenger vessel, which debuts in July 2016, is about halfway through the construction process. Montague hosted a preview of two of the most prevalent suite models here at the Fincantieri ship yard where the Explorer is being built. Two categories of cabins are the 332-square-foot Concierge Suite, which is one of the more affordable options, and the 450-square-foot Penthouse Suite.

'Most Luxurious Ship Ever'

Regent says the luxury ship, Seven Seas Explorer, will have the highest space ratios and one of the highest staff-to-guest ratios in the cruise industry. The 56,000-ton, 750-passenger Seven Seas Explorer, is due to debut in summer 2016. Its wow factor is a spacious two-bedroom suite that comes with a daily price tag of $5,000 per person. The ship is being designed to be "recognized industry-wide as the most luxurious ship ever," Regent President Jason Montague says in a statement. The new luxury suite, called the Regent Suite, covers more than 3,800 square feet and comes with a dining area, its own sauna and steam room, a spa treatment area and a glass-covered veranda with views toward the horizon over the ship's bow, a company statement says.

MTN Extends Prestige Cruise SatCom Partnership

MTN Communications (MTN) says it has extended the companies' 12-year relationship and will be introducing new communications services to its three-ship Regent Seven Seas Cruises fleet and five-ship Oceania Cruises operation. MTN explains that it delivers a complete communications solution including MTN Worldwide TV (MTN TV), Internet and voice services for passengers and crew, including the maritime-specific voice app for calling and messaging onboard and ship-to-shore. Prestige pioneered the launch of this app – MTN OceanPhone Mobile – onboard several of its vessels. OceanPhone Mobile leverages vessel Wi-Fi infrastructure and the reliable MTN network so crew can call and message with family and friends using their own smartphones and tablets.

The new ship will be named 'Seven Seas Explorer' and is to be built in Sestri Ponente (Genoa) shipyard with delivery scheduled for summer 2016. The contract for the 54,000 gross tonnes and 223 metres in length cruise ship with accommodation for 738 passengers,  is worth approximately USD 450-million, say the shipbuilders. Navigator of the Seas Delivered by Kvaerner Masa-Yards

The delivery of MS Navigator of the Seas took place today at Kvaerner Masa-Yards' Turku shipyard. Navigator of the Seas, newbuilding 1347, is fourth in the Voyager-class series of cruise ships for Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.
