Allcargo Groups Subsidiaries as ECU Worldwide

India’s integrated logistics solution provider Allcargo Logistics Ltd announced the rebranding of its global subsidiaries, ECU Line, Econocaribe and China Consolidators to ECU Worldwide. “The name ECU-Worldwide heralds the start of a new chapter,” said Allcargo Logistics Founder and Chairman Shashi Kiran Shetty. “This is in line with our vision to become a $2 billion revenue organization by the year 2020. “The new name signifies more than just a rebranding of our group companies. It provides us with the impetus to deliver more, create new products and proactively propose solutions to surpass client’s expectations to help achieve our ambitious growth targets.” Shetty added.

Allcargo Acquires 2 Vessels for Coastal Operations

Allcargo Logistics has announced the acquisition of two additional vessels aggregating 24000 DWT. for its coastal shipping business. Post this acquisition Allcargo now owns a total of five cargo vessels making it one of the largest players in the logistics industry. The main criterion for this acquisition was to cater to the growing requirements not only of coastal shipping but regional trade and commerce as well. India has over 7,000 km of coastline. Considering India’s demography and strategic location as a global trade hub, the coastline will play a major role in coastal shipping services which lead to efficient, cost effective and time saving mode of cargo transport.

Antwerp Port takes Roadshow to India

The port of Antwerp has planned a Roadshow in India as this country has generated a record 5 million tonnes of cargo in Antwerp in 2014. The roadshow has been programmed from 9 to 13 February 2015. With an annual freight volume of 199 million tonnes the port of Antwerp is the second-largest in Europe. Its central location in the heart of Europe makes it possible to serve a huge consumer market very quickly: an essential advantage for exporting countries that target the European consumer. To help convince such countries of the unique position occupied by Antwerp in the European port landscape, the Antwerp port community regularly organises missions abroad. The port of Antwerp has long been convinced of the economic growth potential of India.

Allcargo switches to RTG operation with four Kalmar cranes in India

Allcargo switches to RTG operation with four Kalmar cranes in India. Cargotec has received an order for four all-electric, Kalmar E-One2 rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes from Allcargo Logistics in India. The RTGs are scheduled to start operations in April next year. The order has been booked in the second quarter of 2011. Rapid growth in container traffic moving through the Indian ports has prompted Allcargo Logistics to convert container handling at its container freight station in Chennai and plan new facility near Mumbai using rubber-tyred gantry crane, each with two RTGs.
