Freeport LNG Kicks Off Train 2

US-based Freeport LNG has started commercial operations at its second of three planned liquefaction trains.Freeport LNG Train 3 remains on track to meet its previously announced schedule, with initial production of LNG scheduled for Q1 of 2020, said McDermott International, Inc. with its partners, Chiyoda International Corporation and Zachry Group."We continue to advance the Freeport LNG Project with another significant accomplishment, the commercial operation of Train 2," said Mark Coscio, McDermott's Senior Vice President for North, Central and South America."Congratulations to the joint venture project team who has maintained a commitment to safety and quality.

Freeport LNG Reaches Milestone

DMCC, Maersk Team up on Shipping Solution

Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC), the world’s leading Free Zone for trade and enterprise in Dubai, has teamed up with Maersk Trade Finance to offer a ‘one-stop-shop’ solution that handles both the flow of goods and financing. The requirement was raised by DMCC’s Food Trade Group, set up in October 2016, an industry group aimed at growing the global food trade industry by connecting financiers and traders alike. As a result, DMCC and Maersk came together to provide the trade with a solution that meets both their shipping and financing needs including pre- and post-shipment finance. LR, Penn Oak Energy Partner for LNG Retrofit Service

Lloyd’s Register North America, Inc. (LR) has teamed with Penn Oak Energy Corp to help companies raise capital and mitigate the technical risks associated with retrofitting ships fuelled by liquid natural gas (LNG), by providing a one-stop-shop solution to the industry. Ships that are fuelled by LNG can reduce operating costs while meeting stricter environmental regulations. LNG-fuelled ships have reduced emissions (nitrogen oxide, sulphur oxide and particulate matter) as compared with heavy bunker oil and even low-sulphur marine diesel. Historically, the leading expense for ship operators is fuel and personnel. Rolls-Royce Engines, Equipment for Bourbon

Rolls-Royce is to deliver deck machinery and engines to an arctic Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel (AHTS) to be built by Vard for Bourbon Offshore Norway. The contract has a value in excess of £17 million for Rolls-Royce. The deck machinery delivery from Rolls-Royce will consist of anchor handling winches, secondary winches, auxiliary winches, anchor handling cranes and a wide range of safer deck operation equipment. The engine delivery consists of two main engines and three main generator engines. AHTS vessels are built to handle anchors for oil rigs and perform rig moves.
