Dongara Marine Delivers Ferry in Western Australia

Placing a board deck across two canoes, to make a broad flat and stable surface for transporting passengers and freight, was often done to form early ferries. The true catamaran is an evolution of that practical design concept. In recent decades, Australia has led in the development of all shapes and sizes for aluminum catamaran ferries.In December 2019, Dongara Marine of Port Denison delivered a very practical 148-seat, 24- by 5.5-meter ferry to Western Australia’s Public Transport Authority.

On Patrol: North River Boats

ALMAR by North River Boats of Roseburg Oregon recently built and launched the first of three 29 x 10 ft. Liberty Walk Around vessels destined for the San Francisco area. The Liberty family of boats features a Wing Hybrid Foam/Air Fender protecting the exterior perimeter of the boat. Capable of speeds greater than 46 knots, this is a high speed craft designed for pursuit, quick maneuvering and excellent sea keeping capabilities. The first of these boats was built for the San Francisco Fire Department and will serve as a rescue platform working near the Golden Gate Bridge.
