SIA Appoints Siemens Industry's V-P to the Board

The Security Industry Association (SIA) says it has appointed Rich Cillessen, vice president of enterprise security at Siemens Industry Inc., to its Board of Directors. As vice president of the enterprise security business line, Cillessen is a senior executive with a proven track record of building businesses and delivering outstanding results, during a career spanning more than 15 years in both the domestic and International market. Since 2013, he has led the strategy, vision and sales for Siemens Enterprise Security business. He is responsible for strategic account management for key security clients. “SIA is pleased to welcome Rich Cillessen to its Board of Directors,” said SIA Chairman John Stroia, chief operating officer, The Will-Burt Company.

Siemens Wins Order for Two Marine PSVs

Siemens Industr awarded a multimillion dollar contract by LEEVAC Shipyards, LLC to equip two newly constructed Aries Marine Corporation marine platform supply vessels (PSV) with its unique diesel electric propulsion solution at Leevac’s facilities in Jennings, La. “The demands placed on the onboard systems and technologies of today’s PSVs are high as these vessels are specialized and tailored based upon particular machine layouts, power requirements, automation processes, climatic conditions and more,” says David Grucza, marine business manager, Siemens Industry, Inc. The two 270 ft PSVs will be outfitted with Siemens Blue multi-drive, low-voltage system.

Siemens Wins Navy Contract

Siemens Industry, Inc. (NYSE: SI) wona contract to equip two U.S. Navy Auxiliary General Oceanographic Research (AGOR) vessels with its unique diesel electric propulsion solution at Dakota Creek Industries Inc. Siemens Strengthens Water Capabilities in Oil and Gas Industry

Effective April 1, 2012, Siemens Industry Inc. has transferred the Water Solutions Oil & Gas business to Siemens' Energy Sector, Oil & Gas Division, Integrated System Solutions (ISS). Siemens to Supply Propulsions Systems for PSVs

Siemens Industry, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to equip two platform supply vessels (PSVs) with its diesel electric propulsion solution at Fincantieri Marine Group's Bay Shipbuilding Company in Sturgeon Bay, WI. A Tidewater Inc. subsidiary will construct the vessels. The two deepwater PSVs will be outfitted with Siemens Blue™ multi-drive low-voltage propulsion system which improves reliability due to failsafe features that will help the vessel owner lower maintenance costs, and increase efficiency and operational ease for the vessel and crew. The ships' advanced design will also decrease fuel consumption, resulting in reduced emissions of harmful greenhouse gases.

Siemens Opens Third Service Location

Siemens Industry, Inc. has announced that it has opened a third marine service location in Houma, La., devoted to servicing offshore supply vessels, ferries, cargo carriers and other ocean vessels. Similar to its sister marine service locations in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Seattle, Wash., the new Gulf Coast location will serve both on-call and service contract customers. The new Houma-based office will offer a myriad of repair and spare parts services for automation, drives, motors, instrumentation and controls, as well as condition monitoring and part audits. It will also offer technical support programs that provide software upgrades and scheduled maintenance for the entire electrical equipment system or portions of it, even if the original installation was not performed by Siemens.

EPD, Siemens Form Solutions Partnership

Electronic Power Design, Inc. (EPD) and Siemens Industry, Inc. Drive Technologies today announced that the companies have formed a solutions partnership for Siemens ELFA R hybrid propulsion systems. Siemens recently released its newly designed ELFA hybrid propulsion system, which offers considerably enhanced fuel consumption, range, redundancy, and maneuverability. The Siemens ELFA successfully closes the gap between large merchant vessels and small recreational and commercial crafts traditionally powered by mechanical propulsion solutions. The standardized plug and operate solution further reduces the time/effort required for installation and integration into the vessel.

L-3 Contract to Manufacture Siemens Transformers

L-3 Power Paragon announced that its Power Magnetics division has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract by Siemens Industry, Inc. The contract calls for L-3 to manufacture an undisclosed number of Siemens’ 17-megawatt Perfect Harmony Medium Voltage Converter Transformers, which Siemens will use for a large pipeline project in Asia.
