Simrad Debuts Maris ECDIS900 MK5, MK15

The Simrad Professional Series has launched a new lineup of professional-grade Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS)– theSimrad MARIS ECDIS900 MK5 and MK15.Available in 19-, 24-, and 26-inch widescreen monitors, the ECDIS900 Series is IEC61174:2008 Ed3type-approved for use on all SOLAS vessels operating under the ECDIS Carriage Mandate. The ECDIS900 MK5 and MK15 are based on a standard Windows interface using common controls including toolbars, tabbed panels, hotkeys, and right-click context or ‘pop-up’ menus. Navico Acquires Consilium Radar Business

Navico Holding AS, parent company to the Simrad brand and Consilium AB, has acquired Consilium’s radar business. As part of the transaction, Navico takes over all operations of the radar business in Italy, including research and development, product management and manufacturing. “The professional marine market is a strategic priority for our growth ambitions,” said Leif Ottosson, president & CEO of Navico Holding AS. Navico and Consilium have also entered into a sales and distribution agreement.

Navico Adds to Global Marketing Team

Navico Holding AS, parent company to leading marine electronics brands Lowrance, Simrad and B&G, said they have set into place a new marketing team structure designed to maximize market growth opportunities. Navico has appointed Jonathon Pudney to the role of Global Marketing Director. Jonathon previously worked at a number of high-level marketing and communications agencies before taking the role of International Marketing Communications Director for the De Beers Group.
