COSCO VLCC Discharges at Exxon's Singapore Facility

A supertanker owned by a subsidiary of COSCO Shipping Tanker (Dalian), which is under United States sanctions for alleged transportation of Iranian oil, has docked in Singapore to discharge its Middle East crude cargoes, shipping data on Refinitiv Eikon showed on Thursday.Coswisdom Lake, a very large crude carrier capable of holding 2 million barrels of oil, docked at Exxon Mobil Corp's terminal on Jurong Island late on Wednesday.Coswisdom Lake is owned by Pan Cosmos Shipping & Enterprises Co, which is a fully owned subsidiary of COSCO Dalian, according to a document issued by Cosco Shipping Energy Transportation on Oct. 1.Reporting by Florence Tan, Shu Zhang and Roslan Khasawneh

Indian PM Narendra Modi Lays Foundation Stone For JNPT Fourth Countainer Terminal

India's biggest container traffic handler Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT) has achieved yet another milestone in its ambitious journey to become a world class maritime hub when the Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone for the fourth container terminal, proposed to be developed at an estimated cost of Rs. 7915 Crores (USD 1.23 bln) on DBFOT basis. Modi arrived at the JNPT Helipad- accompanied by the Maharashtra Governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao, Union Minister of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways  Nitin Gadkari, the state Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and other dignitaries. Modi witnessed a six minute Video presentation on JNPT and Fourth Container Terminal (FCT). Modi was briefed by Gadkari that the work has been awarded to M/s Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals Pvt. ABB Opens Integrated Operations Center in Singapore

ABB is opening a new integrated Operations Center in Singapore, the third facility of its type and first in Asia, which will allow the company’s engineers to follow the sun across the globe. Typically, at the end of the working day, the Singapore Center will handover to colleagues in Norway and Finland and this process will continue across the globe when a new Integrated Operations Center is opened in the U.S. later this year. ABB describes the Integrated Operations Center as a realization of its principle of the Internet of Things, Services and People.

Seakeeper Enters Asia-Pacific Market

Seakeeper continues to strengthen its worldwide sales and service support with its new facility in Raffles Marina in Singapore. The office will serve as a base for all company operations in Asia. "We're taking a global approach to our business model," said Phil Bourque, Seakeeper global account manager. The Singapore facility rivals those in the West. Customers in Asia now have access to the full level of superior service that they've come to expect from the company. "This is a significant opportunity for Seakeeper; we have ambitious growth targets in the region," said Andrew Semprevivo, Seakeeper VP of sales and marketing. Seakeeper recently launched its expanded line of five gyro models that provide stability to boats from 30–220'.

Seatronics Relocates to Larger Facility

Seatronics Pte Ltd, an Acteon company, has moved its Singapore operations to a facility with triple the capacity of the previous within the recently upgraded Toll Offshore Supply Base. The new location offers nearly 1,000 square meters of specialist engineering and electronic preparation workshops and warehousing space. The new facility includes a state-of-the-art cable molding operation, extensive hydraulic test facilities, CTD and Sound Velocity calibration equipment as well as a training room which can accommodate up to 20 clients on a variety of course topics.

Haliburton Open New Singapore Facility

Halliburton opens its newly constructed Completion Technology and Manufacturing Center in Singapore. The new state-of-the-art facility is located on about 43 acres in Jurong Industrial Park and includes more than 500,000 square feet (46,451 square meters) of manufacturing and administrative space. The facility includes technology laboratories and test facilities, which house complex processes such as high-alloy material precision machining, electrode discharge machines, small deep-hole gun drilling and fully automated high-pressure testing. Drydocks World Singapore Launches AHTS

Drydocks World launches an Anchor Handling Tug Supply vessel (AHTS) built at its Singapore facility in Tuas basin for Swire Pacific Offshore. The ABS-classed vessel has a bollard pull of over 200 tonnes, and is powered by four engines combined with an azimuth thruster and four tunnel thrusters. Equipment includes a Main Towing Winch, CHDs and secondary winches with an Anchor Recovery Frame for meeting Anchor handling requirements. The vessel was designed by ‘Havyard Design AS’ and can accommodate 37 people.

Strategic Marine Wins Offshore Cargo Catamaran Contract

Western Australian (WA) ship builder Strategic Marine has signed a contract with repeat client Offshore Plant Hire for the construction of a 24 meter heavy duty offshore cargo catamaran. The catamaran will be built at Strategic Marine's Singapore facility which is nearing the end of a major expansion program which will see the shipyard more than double its capacity. The vessel will be completed in the first quarter of 2013 and is expected to operate in WA’s North West. The contract follows the delivery of a 27 meter work barge to Offshore Plant Hire earlier in 2012.

Drydocks World in Discussions with Singapore Delegation

Khamis Juma Buamim, Chairman of Drydocks World and Maritime World received the Singapore's Non-Resident Ambassador (NRA) to the United Arab Emirates, HE Tee Tua Ba and his accompanying delegation and held discussions on topics of mutual interest. Discussions revolved around the company’s future business strategy and action plan for the company’s Singapore-based operations, areas of mutual co-operation and exchange of know-how and technical expertise and identifying areas of further development of relations and partnerships. World Record-Breaking AHTS Delivered by Drydocks World

Drydocks World delivered Lewek Fulmar, the world’s first UT788 CD Multi-functional Ultra Deep Water Anchor Handling Tug, Supply and Service vessel (AHTS). The vessel was built at Drydocks World’s Singapore facility. Canyon Offshore Appoints Commercial Manager

Canyon Offshore-Asia Pacific, based in Singapore has announced the appointment of Jerry Rowbury to the position of Commercial Manager-Asia Pacific. Rowbury will be based out of Canyon Offshore’s Singapore facility and will be responsible for ROV sales, marketing, business development and commercial activities in the Asia-Pacific region. Rowbury is a Chartered Hydrographic Surveyor with more than 20 years industry experience. Offshore Service Vessels Sold

Buruna Raya Logistics has signed an order for three 101.7 ft. offshore service vessels. The vessels will be constructed at Strategic Marine’s Singapore Facility. Powered by three Cummins KTA 38 Engines giving the vessel a total of 3600 bhp, each vessel with be capable of reaching a maximum speed of 27 knots. The vessels will have the capacity to seat 50 passengers, provide accommodation for 8 crew members, and hold up to 134 tons of cargo on its 67 square meter cargo deck area. Source: Strategic Marine
