ABS Renews R&D Partnership with Singapore's MPA

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with ABS to renew its partnership in maritime research, development and innovation. ABS Recognized in Singapore for R&D Collaboration

ABS, a classification and technical services provider to the offshore and marine industries, has been recognized by the Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) as this year’s recipient of the Honorary SMI Collaboration Award. Guest of honor Lucien Wong, Chairman of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, presented the Honorary SMI Collaboration Award to ABS on October 10 at the SMI Forum. The award represents special acknowledgement of the many projects pursued in collaboration with the ABS Singapore Innovation and Research Center (SIRC).

ABS Announces Investments in Singapore

ABS announced investments in Singapore that will strengthen engineering and survey capabilities and lay the foundation for strategic global initiatives. Recognizing the growing role played by Singapore in the marine and offshore industries, ABS is expanding its operational workforce, increasing research and development (R&D) efforts and establishing a Global Performance Center in Singapore. "ABS has worked alongside industry, academia and government in Singapore for more than 50 years," said ABS President and CEO Christopher J. Wiernicki.
