Vado Gateway Container Terminal Opened

The international container terminal operating company APM Terminals (APMT) said it has opened a new container terminal in Vado Ligure, on the Italian Riviera, which will be capable of handling 900,000 TEUs of containerized cargo.APMT has a 50.1% share in the “Vado Gateway,” while Cosco Shipping Ports has a 40% share and Qingdao Port International has a 9.9% share. APMT said the project is part of the “New Silk Road.” Chinese firms have invested in more than a dozen European ports in recent years.Vado Gateway is the most important port infrastructure development in Italy over the last decades and the result of a 450-million-euro investment.The terminal was commissioned by Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mar Ligure Occidentale (Western Ligurian Sea System Port Authority)…

Sistema Welcomes Efforts to Resolve Conflict with Rosneft

Russia's Sistema conglomerate said on Thursday it welcomes all efforts to resolve its legal conflict with Rosneft after the oil major filed a new, $2.2 billion, lawsuit seeking damages. "Sistema welcomes any and all efforts for the settlement of the conflict on conditions that would suit all sides," a spokesman for Sistema said. Trelleborg Suite Supplied to Prelude FLNG

Trelleborg’s marine systems operation has supplied a suite of products to Shell’s Prelude FLNG facility, the largest offshore facility ever constructed. Prelude, which is 488 meters long, 74 meters wide, and made with more than 260,000 tons of steel, will extract and liquefy natural gas from a site in North West Australia. Hoegh LNG Bags FSRU Deal in Chile

Oslo-based Höegh LNG said it has signed an Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU)contract with Chilean Octopus LNG for the Penco-Lirquén LNG import terminal to be located in Concepción Bay, Chile. The contract is for a period of 20 years and is expected to generate an average annual EBITDA of around USD 36 million, Höegh LNG said in a statement. The contract is subject to Octopus completing financing and obtaining necessary environmental approvals, and the planned start-up is in the second quarter 2018. Höegh LNG will service the contract with an FSRU from its newbuilding program currently in progress. The FSRU will be offered to Höegh LNG Partners LP in due course.
