In a ceremony held in Trinidad and Tobago on November 23, 2022, Proman Stena Bulk Ltd formally named its first newbuild IMOIIMeMAX methanol-fueled 49,900 DWT vessel, Stena Pro Patria.Stena Pro Patria is the first of three methanol-fueled vessels delivered in 2022 to the joint venture between tanker company Stena Bulk and the methanol producer Proman, with a further three newbuilds due for delivery between now and 2024.The naming ceremony was the first for a methanol-fueled newbuild in Trinidad and Tobago, and was attended by Trinidad and Tobago’s Prime Minister, Dr.
EU Project Aims to Improve Arctic Shipping Safety
A three-year, €6.5 million ($7.7 million) research project has been launched to address safety and efficiency in Arctic ship operations. Johan Roos is Interferry’s executive director of European Union and IMO affairs based in Brussels, Belgium. He took up the newly created regulatory affairs post in September 2011 after previously serving as director of sustainability with Sweden’s Stena Rederi AB. He holds a masters degree in environmental sciences from the University of Gothenburg. In 2000, he left classification society DNV to join ferry operator Stena Line to develop internal environmental management systems and for many years, he was in charge of sustainability issues for all of the Stena group’s shipping activities.
Stena Settles Patent Dispute In Australia
In a gratifying end to the long running patent infringement dispute in Australia, Swedish company Stena Rederi AB and the Australian ship builder Austal have reached an amicable settlement, for an undisclosed sum, of Stena’s claim for compensation arising out of infringement of Stena’s patent relating to hull forms for high speed catamarans. Berglund Joins OSG
Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. appointed veteran shipping executive Mats Berglund as Senior Vice President to lead OSG's Crude Transportation Strategic Business Unit. In this newly created role, he will be responsible for OSG's VLCC, Aframax and Panamax tanker operations. Berglund will relocate to the United States and be based out of OSG's corporate headquarters in New York City, New York. Aker Yards Reports Strong Growth
Aker Yards ASA reported an EBITDA of NOK 401 million for the fourth quarter of 2006, an increase of 15 percent compared with the fourth quarter of 2005. The EBITDA result for 2006 was NOK 1 443 million, up 40 percent from 2005. Earnings per share (EPS) were NOK 21.77 for the quarter, and NOK 46.56 for the full year. Order intake in the fourth quarter was NOK 8906 million, giving an order backlog of NOK 79,420 million at the end of the quarter, comprising 149 vessels. Aker Yards had revenues of NOK 7 815 million in the fourth quarter of 2006, an increase of 60 percent compared with NOK 4 897 million in the corresponding period of 2005. High activity in all three business areas and the acquisition of new yards contributed to the development.

Earnings per share (EPS) were $3.5m for the quarter, and $7.5m for the full year. OThe Board of Directors proposes to pay a dividend for 2006 of NOK 18 per share for the year 2006. The pressure on subcontractors is high, and demands a careful follow up in order to reduce the risk of delays on projects. Significant integration processes are ongoing in all three business areas. The order backlog increased from the previous quarter, and order intake in the fourth quarter was NOK 8 906 million.
Aker to Build the Ferries for Stena
