Raytheon Anschütz Wins IBS Contracts

The German navigation system manufacturer Raytheon Anschütz reported a number of contract awards for the delivery of integrated bridge systems to newbuilt vessels for offshore operations. Raytheon Anschütz Singapore, a wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Anschütz, will deliver the bridge navigation system and communication systems to a 4,500 dwt Platfrom Supply Vessel built at Keppel Singmarine Brasil shipyard. Northrop Grumman IBS for Stena Superferries

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) has been selected to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for two new vehicle-passenger (RoPax) ferries being built for Stena Line at Wadan Yards in Wismar, Germany. Sperry Marine Gets Contract

The U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command has awarded a contract to Northrop Grumman Corporation  to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for three U.S. Navy cruisers. The indefinite-delivery indefinite-quantity contract, valued at $2.72m, was awarded to Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit. Under the contract, the new-generation IBS, running on Sperry Marine’s Voyage Management System (VMS) software, will be back-fitted onto three guided-missile cruisers (CG). Sperry Marine has supplied similar VMS-based integrated navigation systems for hundreds of commercial vessels worldwide, including tankers, container ships, bulk carriers and passenger cruise ships.

Sperry Marine to Supply for Container Ships

Northrop Grumman Corporation’s Sperry Marine business unit has won orders from the China Shipbuilding Corporation shipyard in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for 12 new container ships. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. “The state-of-the-art bridge electronics suite is designed to enhance navigation safety by integrating all of the ships’ navigation and steering control systems,” said John DeMaso, president of Sperry Marine. The new ships, which are being built for Chilean ship owner Compañia Sudamericana de Vapores (CSAV) and German ship owner, Reederei Peter Doehle, will be fitted with a complete IBS featuring Sperry Marine’s proprietary Voyage Management System software.

Northrop Grumman to Supply IBS for Genesis

Northrop Grumman Corporation has been selected to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for Royal Caribbean’s Genesis Project shipbuilding program. Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit has been awarded a contract to supply a complete integrated suite of navigation, communication and control systems for the new giant cruise ships, which will be built at Aker Yards in Finland. The Genesis Project integrated bridge systems will be based on Sperry Marine’s VisionMaster FT technology, and will include a total of 13 TotalWatch multi-function workstations on the bridge, as well as a TabletBridge wireless node in the captain’s cabin.

Grimaldi Orders Integrated Bridge Systems from Northrop Grumman

Northrop Grumman Corporation has received orders to supply integrated bridge systems for five new roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vehicle carriers being built for Grimaldi Group Naples by Croatian Shipbuilding Corporation at its Uljanik shipyard in Pula, Croatia. The ships will be fitted with a complete suite of navigation and communication systems to be supplied by Northrop Grumman’s Sperry Marine business unit in conjunction with Compania Generale Telemar. The navigation systems to be installed on the five new ro-ro ships will be based on Sperry Marine’s new-generation VisionMaster FT technology, which was unveiled at the 2006 SMM Exhibition in Hamburg.

Litton Marine Systems Wins IBS Orders

Litton Marine Systems has received orders to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for two new cruise ships for Royal Caribbean International. The two vessels are currently under construction at Meyer Werft Shipyard in Papenburg. Radiance of the Seas will be delivered in early 2001, with the second vessel scheduled to arrive during the second half of 2002. In accordance with Royal Caribbean's two-bridge concept, each will vessel will house a completely redundant package comprised of two independent Vision 2100 integrated bridge systems. The total package will include interswitched BridgeMaster E S-band and X-band radars, a Sperry Marine Voyage Management System (VMS) with ECDIS and a docking system.

Sperry Marine to Supply IBS for Destroyers

a contract to supply integrated bridge systems (IBS) for the next eight U.S. Navy Arleigh Burke (DDG 51)-class destroyers. movement of the ship superimposed on a high-resolution electronic chart display. The contract is valued at $7.9 million. Sperry Marine by Bath Iron Works (BIW), lead shipyard for the DDG 51-class Aegis destroyers. The ships are being built at BIW and Northrop Grumman's Ingalls Operations. The first ship to receive the IBS installation will be the Nitze (DDG 94), scheduled to be commissioned in 2005. The IBS networks the ship's systems and sensors into a single interface, providing a high level of reliability and redundancy of critical equipment thereby minimizing the ship's operating costs while its modular structure easily expands to meet future requirements.
