The new RH Marine Group, formerly known as Imtech Marine was introduced at the Europort exhibition in Rotterdam today. Following the recent acquisition by Parcom Capital and Pon Holdings, Imtech Marine will now be known as RH Marine Group, built on the roots of founding companies Radio Holland and van Rietschoten & Houwens. The two ‘pillars’ for service and newbuild activities within Imtech Marine are also involved in the new naming structure. Global NavCom, Connectivity, On Board ICT service and maintenance brand Radio Holland will keep its name but will have a new logo.

Canal Marine and Techsol Marine announced a partnership agreement that will combine the companies' expertise for providing marine system design and fabrication, including switchboards, motor and generator controllers, AC/DC drive and winch controllers, alarm and monitoring systems, navigation and radar equipment, along with circuit breaker testing, repairs and certification. Kobelt announced today the hiring of Lance Lidstone and Sylvain Robitaille as Business Development Managers. Both will report directly to David Bockhold, CEO, and will be responsible for business development in the controls and steering sectors worldwide. Lance Lidstone comes to Kobelt with over 30 years of experience in technical sales and engineering roles with Wagner, Jastram and AMT. Lance has a deep technical understanding of steering systems, classifications and hydraulics, but has also held roles in senior management and sales, providing a balanced approach to understanding the needs and requirements of the shipbuilding industry.

Announced in June 2011, Bourbon and CGG entered a five-year charter agreement for a series of six custom newbuild seismic support vessels. Now more than two years later, the third ship in the series, Bourbon Gannet, is due to enter service in the early part of 2014, following the launch of the first two vessels, Bourbon Petrel and Bourbon Fulmar, in summer and autumn 2013, respectively. The remaining three sister vessels are under construction in Dubai’s Grandweld Shipyard, also slated for launch in 2014.

Canadian naval architecture firm Navtech designed the recently delivered 'Peter Fraser', a 33-meter Ro-Ro ferry for operation on the St. Lawrence River in shallow waters between Isle- Verte and Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs. Imtech Marine Canada (IMC) has been awarded its first subcontract of the extensive Canadian government National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS) Program for the engineering of an Offshore Fisheries Science Vessel. Imtech Marine takes responsibility for the ships’ platform automation, electrical solutions, electric propulsion and heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and has started the first engineering activities. In October 2011, Imtech Marine announced its involvement in the realization of the extensive NSPS program as a technology partner of Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards.

New Regional Director Sytze Voulon appointed for Imtech Marine North West Europe. As per February 20, 2012 Imtech Marine has appointed Mr. Sytze Voulon to the position of Regional Director North West Europe (Rotterdam). Mr. Voulon (47) has held several senior management positions in the international maritime industry. He started, after his studies of maritime business at the HTS in Rotterdam, at Mobil Oil in The Netherlands. After Mobil Oil he worked for amongst others Stork, Lips and Rolls-Royce. From 2001, Mr. Voulon worked for Rolls-Royce and held several senior management positions, the most recent being Regional Director - Marine Europe till 2008 and Regional Director Marine Europe & Africa / Vice President Services Europe & Africa. Imtech N.V. acquired the Canadian marine company Groupe Techsol Marine. This strategic acquisition means that Imtech has now a high-tech marine production site available in Canada. The acquisition also strengthens Imtech's service and maintenance foothold in North-America. With over 100 employees, Groupe Techsol Marine realises annual revenues of around 20 million euro. The acquisition will be paid in cash and will directly contribute to the earnings per share. Imtech CEO René van der Bruggen: 'We enjoy a strong position in the global marine market, being active in over 20 countries at more than 70 local offices along all major shipping routes and near major shipbuilding centres. Early on the morning of October 28th, the BRAtt departed Point Roberts, Washington State bound for Seattle. Captain Ron Burchett and his able crew Alan Burchett and Ben Flodquist started out in 12 to 15 knot easterly winds and a two foot chop. With Boundary Bay abeam, the winds increased to NE 20 – 25, with four foot seas on the forward quarter. The ride was lively for this 28-ft tug, but with the heavy ballasted skeg the motions were very good with just moderate spray and no green water on deck.

Great Lakes Shipyard has successfully completed seatrials of the “HANDY-ONE”, the first tug of the new HANDYSIZE Class to be delivered to TUGZ International, LLC, the well-known and successful owner and charterer of a fleet of Z-Class tractor tugs. Both the new HANDYSIZE Class and the Z-Class tugs were designed for Tugz by Jensen Maritime Consultants, Seattle. The first of 10 new Rigdon GPA-654 platform supply vessels, appropriately named First and Ten, has been delivered from Bollinger Shipyards in Louisiana. Another 22 of the vessels of the same 190-foot design are on order by Bourbon Offshore from a Chinese yard. As with earlier Guido Perla-designed supply vessels, the diesel-electric propulsion power in these vessels is being supplied by Cummins Mid-South LLC of Kenner Louisiana. For these vessels the diesel electric package consist of two Cummins KTA-50DM1-powered1235 KW and one Cummins KTA-19DM1-powered 425 KW main propulsion generators and one 6BTA5.9G-85 KW SOLAS emergency standby generator.
