NYK-TDG Maritime Academy Holds Ceremony for 96 Graduates

The NYK-TDG Maritime Academy (NTMA), a merchant marine academy jointly operated by NYK and the Transnational Diversified Group (TDG) near Manila, Philippines, held a commencement ceremony for 96 students, the academy’s 12th batch of graduates.In his congratulatory speech, NYK President Takaya Soga said, "NYK Line, in its 138 years of existence, has survived countless crises and adversities. I believe that your academy has prepared you to face the world outside its halls because you experienced the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic.

NTMA Holds Graduation Ceremony for Year 2021 Graduates

On November 18, a graduation ceremony was held for 108 2021-year graduates was held at the NYK-TDG Maritime Academy (NTMA), a merchant marine university jointly operated by NYK and the Transnational Diversified Group (TDG) near Manila, Philippines. The ceremony had originally been postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.Due to the pandemic, NTMA switched to online classes when dormitory life and on-campus classes were not feasible, and the students completed the classroom curriculum without delay.

NYK Subsidiary, MarCoPay Test Paying Seafarers' Salaries in Digital Currency

NYK Intros World’s 1st Onboard Digital Currency

NYK-Fil Celebrates Its 30th Anniversary

NYK-TDG Maritime Academy Graduates Its Class of 2016

The NYK-TDG Maritime Academy (NTMA), which is located in the suburbs of Manila and jointly run by NYK and the Transnational Diversified Group (TDG), proudly graduated the 117 students comprising the academy’s Class of 2016. NYK president Tadaaki Naito and TDG chairman J. Roberto C. Delgado, in addition to invited guests that included Ciriaco Lagunzad III, administrator of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, participated in the graduation ceremony for the students, all of whom had enrolled in 2012. NYK-TDG Maritime Academy Graduates Its Class of 2015

NYK-TDG Maritime Academy (NTMA), which is located in the suburbs of Manila and jointly run by NYK and the Transnational Diversified Group (TDG),* proudly graduated the 107 students comprising the academy’s Class of 2015 on September 21. NYK president Tadaaki Naito and TDG chairman J. Roberto C. Delgado, in addition to invited guests that included Hans Leo J. Cacdac, administrator of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, participated in the graduation ceremony for the students, all of whom had enrolled in 2011. ICTSI Laguna Dry Port Expansion

International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) dry port unit, Laguna Gateway Inland Container Terminal (LGICT), recently broke ground to start the expansion of new facilities which include extended and dedicated storage areas for loaded and empty containers, a runway for rubber tired gantries (RTG), container care facilities, weigh bridges at the gates and an upgraded access road, as it primes the Laguna dry port for the revival of intermodal freight transport in the Philippines. The expansion works, which is Phase 1 development of LGICT, commenced after groundbreaking and time capsule lowering ceremonies attended by officers and staff of ICTSI and LGICT, representatives from joint venture partners Transnational Diversified Group and Nippon Container Terminals Co.

NYK-Line Support New Philippine Maritime Training Academy

The new NYK-TDG campus opens its doors to 180 students at its Calamba location (about 50 km south of Manila). Two ceremonies were held — an opening ceremony for the sparkling new crew training facilities, maritime academy, classrooms, and lodgings, and then an entrance ceremony for the incoming class. NTMA is jointly run by NYK and business partner Transnational Diversified Group (TDG). Students receive three years of classroom study that includes use of the academy’s ship-handling simulator and engine plant, and follow that learning with one year of practical onboard training.

NYK Line, Transnational Diversified Maritime Academy Opens

Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (NYK) and the Transnational Diversified Group (TDG) welcomed around 950 students and guests to the grand opening of the new NYK-TDG Maritime Academy in Canlubang, Philippines. NYK and its business partner TDG decided to establish this maritime college, which will educate and train future crew members during their school years so that they will not only be able to handle issues involving management but will also gain practical knowledge that is required on board vessels. Those attending the event included Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, president of the Philippines; Philippine government officials; Koichiro Yamazaki, Japanese ambassador to the Philippines; and parents and family members of the 120 excited new students.
