Oldendorff Presses on With Its Newbuild Program
German shipowner Oldendorff Carriers says it has recently taken delivery of two new bulk carriers, continuing a string of newbuild deliveries from Chinese and Japanese shipyards.The 63,000 tdw Ultramax Britta Oldendorff and 100,000 tdw Post-panamax Diane Oldendorff, both built by Japanese yard Oshima Shipbuilding and handed over during the second quarter of 2020, are among 23 bulk carrier delivered to Oldendorff since early 2019. PSA, SATS Mull Multimodal Transport Hub in Singapore
Port and terminal operator PSA International and ground handler and in-flight caterer SATS have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in seamlessly connecting their sea and air transport services, with the goal of improving supply chain efficiency and boosting Singapore’s status as a multimodal transport hub.Under the MoU, PSA and SATS will work together on initiatives such as “yard-to-port” data linkages, network extensions between both companies, and enhanced track-and-trace capabilities. Container Handling Up 45% at King Abdullah Port
Rayan Qutub, CEO of King Abdullah Port, has announced that the port has achieved new heights in container handling this year, already showing a 45% increase during the first four months of 2018 compared to the same period in 2017. Qutub confirmed that the substantial increase will play an important role in promoting King Abdullah Port as a logistics hub strategically located on the Red Sea. He added that the progress at King Abdullah Port falls in line with Vision 2030’s logistics goals to link the continents of Asia, Africa and Europe by offering state-of-the-art services and infrastructure to service international shipping lines and facilitate transshipment services as well as imports and exports.
Tema Port To Be Expanded
Ghana President John Dramani Mahama has launched the start of major expansion works at the Tema Port, near Accra, according to local reports. This ambitious project involves an upgrade and significant expansion of Ghana’s main seaport. The project is a Public Private Partnership between the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA), representing the Ghana Government and Meridian Ports Services (MPS). The Port Of Tema Is the largest port in Ghana. Situated on the eastern coast of the country it stretches over a 3.9 million square metres of land area. The port receives an average of over 1650 vessel calls per year. These comprise container vessels, general cargo vessels, tankers, Ro-Ro and cruise vessels amongst many others.
Mammoet Partners with Port Freeport

Non-implementation Of P3 Network Will Have No impact On India
India will hardly be impacted by the planned P3 network not getting implemented. The Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) have announced that they have not approved the P3 Network (Maersk Line, MSC and CMA CGM). The MOFCOM’s decision follows a review under China's merger control rules. The P3 partners take note of and respect MOFCOM’s decision. Subsequently, the partners have agreed to stop the preparatory work on the P3 Network and the P3 Network as initially planned will not come into existence. Fluxys Terminal to Tranship LNG for Yamal
Yamal LNG, a Russian project to produce liquefied natural gas from 2017, has chosen Fluxys' terminal in Zeebrugge, Belgium, as the transhipping point for gas from the peninsula in northern Russia. Russia's Novatek holds 60 percent in Yamal LNG, while France's Total and China's CNPC own 20 percent each. "Fluxys will now carry out all technical, permitting and regulatory processes with a view to provide LNG transshipment services," Yamal LNG said.
