Holland America Line Wins 8 Magellan Awards

Travel Weekly magazine announced the recipients of its 2014 Magellan Awards, and Holland America Line received eight of the prestigious honors. The line won five gold awards in the categories Restaurant Design for Canaletto Small Plates, Television Commercial for “Breathtaking Meet Impeccable,” Blog for the Holland America Blog, Direct Mail for the 2014 Winter Mariner Magazine and Advertising/Marketing Campaign for Discover HAL’s Alaska. Three silver awards were bestowed on the line for Entertainment and the B.B. Cruise Ship Wins Seventh Interior Design Award

Crystal Cruises' largest ship, Crystal Serenity, has won its seventh award since undergoing a $25 million redesign last year – Hospitality Design (HD) magazine's "Judges Award for Distinctive Cruise Design."  This is the first time a cruise line has ever been recognized in the trade publication's annual awards. "Because design is such a key sensibility of discriminating travelers, we have always been committed to creating ultra-stylish spaces in which our guests can feel at home," says Alexandra Don, Crystal's vice president hotel services and design.

Costa Cruises China - Awards

Costa Cruises, the first international company to open the cruise market in China in July 2006, received three international in November: the “China Award 2008" from the Italy-China Foundation/Class Editori, the “Best Brand Campaign 2008” from Travel Weekly China and the “Top Cruise Line of Popularity 2008” from World Traveller Media. The Italy-China Foundation/Class Editori presented the “China Award 2008” to Costa Cruises in the "Lombard Elite" category, for companies that have distinguished themselves in relations with China for having represented the best of “made in Italy”. Costa Cruises was selected by a jury chaired by Cesare Romiti, president of the Italy-China Foundation, and Paolo Panerai, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of Class Editori.

Costa Crociere CEO Honored

Pier Luigi Foschi, Chairman and CEO Costa Crociere, has been listed in the "Club 33" the list of the 33 most important and influencial people in global travel industry published by Travel Weekly magazine. Mr. Foschi’s brief profile reported by the magazine states: "He's not well know in the US but he's a global powerhouse the man behind Carnival Corp’s international expansion plans. He heads the first major cruise line venture in mainland China and obtained the first license to base an international cruise ship in Beijing.
