Inspections of Norway's offshore gas pipelines after the Nord Stream blasts found nothing suspicious, an executive at energy major Equinor told Reuters, in the first official word on the security sweep.However, risks remain after last year's still-unexplained explosions at the Nord Stream pipelines built to carry Russian gas to Germany via the Baltic Sea, warned Jannicke Nilsson, who manages security for Equinor.Europe's largest gas supplier after a drop in Russian flows last year, Equinor also acts as technical service provider for offshore pipelines operator Gassco.

Norwegian group Crown LNG has signed a deal with Aker Solutions as the main contractor to deliver a concrete gravity-based structure (GBS) for Crown’s offshore LNG terminal at Kakinada, India.Under the agreement, Aker Solutions and key subcontractors will first conduct the front-end engineering and design for the LNG terminal. Aker Solutions’ scope includes technical development of the concrete foundation and topsides, as well as the pipeline between the offshore regasification terminal and the onshore gas grid.

Norwegian oil company Equinor has successfully sent a drone carrying a 3D-printed cargo from shore to an offshore production platform in the North Sea in what the company says is a world's first.In a flight spanning around 80 kilometers from the Mongstad base onshore to the Troll field in the North Sea offshore Norway, the drone carried a 3D-printed part for the lifeboat system. Equinor reported the oil industry's first coronavirus infection on an offshore installation on Wednesday, highlighting the challenge in preventing contamination for thousands of workers living in the close quarters on rigs and platforms.A worker was in isolation on the Norwegian energy firm's Martin Linge oil and gas platform off Norway where production is due to start at the end of this year, the company said. It said it would cut activity at the field, but personnel would remain at installations, while workers would reduce meetings and sit further apart in canteens to prevent further contamination. It has 776 people working on the project spread across three installations, Martin Linge, the Maersk Intrepid drilling rig and the Floatel Endurance accommodation rig.

Oil production in the North Sea will drop by 330,000 barrels per day (bpd) month-on-month in June 2019 as Ekofisk closes for planned work, according to Rystad Energy’s latest forecast.“Production is expected to remain stable through April 2019, before dropping 80,000 bpd month on month in May 2019. Norway's Ocean Installer has secured two subsea umbilicals, risers and flowlines (SURF) contracts with Statoil for work on several fields offshore Norway. The subsea company has secured two contracts, comprising work from 2018 through 2020 on the Snorre, Troll, Njord, Åsgard, Bauge, Fenja and Dvalin fields, said a press statement. The first contract is for Subsea Lines Modification (SLM) work, with offshore activities containing complex riser change-out operations, set to commence in Q2 of 2018. Emergency Response and Rescue Vessel (ERRV) operator Atlantic Offshore Scotland Ltd, has secured a two-year firm charter with Maersk Oil UK. The company’s ERRV Ocean Troll, will provide Emergency Response and Rescue services for Maersk Oil’s Culzean project in the central North Sea. The Charter is the first Fire Fighting Class II (Fi-Fi II) ERRV to have operated in the UK sector. The charter commenced in July 2017 and will last for a firm period of two years, with two, one-year options thereafter.

Statoil awards Simon Møkster Shipping AS contracts for three emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRV), and Havila Shipping ASA for one ERRV. The contacts have a total value, included options, of NOK 2.7 billion. The vessels will be part of Statoil’s area-wide emergency response on the Norwegian continental shelf (NCS). The emergency response vessels play an important role in addressing government authorities’ and the company’s own requirements for rescue, hospital, fire-fighting, emergency towing and oil spill preparedness. “Statoil has an extensive emergency preparedness system on the NCS, and through the contracts we have secured four vessels that are tailored to our waters.

Conquest Offshore’s MB-1 heavy lift barge was the key asset in the largest wreck removal recorded in 2016. Conquest MB-1 removed the Troll Solution jack-up rig from the seabed 30 meters deep of the Bay of Campeche, Mexico. The accident occurred back in May 2015 when the Troll Solution tilted during the positioning to carry out maintenance work related to the Caan Alf production platform, operated by PEMEX, Mexico’s National Oil Company. The jack-up tilted due to a fault in one of its legs, causing it to sink into the seabed, according to local sources.

A stricken jack-up has been removed from the Mexican seabed in close proximity to a well head platform, making for the largest wreck removal project completed in 2016. Weighing approximately 7,000 tons, the jack-up Troll Solution, contracted to operate in Pemex's Abkatun-Pol-Chuc shallow water oil field, experienced a debilitating accident while carrying out maintenance work on the wellhead platform CAAN-A in May 2015. The offshore rig was positioning itself to carry out maintenance on wells linked to the Caan Alf platform in the southern Bay of Campeche when it listed, killing two workers.

Stena Drilling has selected Semco Maritime’s facilities at Hanøytangen for a warm stacking of the offshore drilling rig Stena Don. The rig will be warm stacked at the Hanøytangen yard in Bergen, ready for future work, explains Business Development Manager Øistein Tømte, Semco Maritime. Stena Don arrived at the yard November 16 and has previously been on a contract in the Troll field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea. Stena Don is a class 3 semi-submersible rig built in 2001, and has recently been upgraded with a modern equipment package.
