The past few months have been full of uncertainties and even as we look ahead, we donā€™t know exactly what the future will hold. But we do know that as an industry, weā€™ll need to prioritize and plan differently. OGA Releases Mid North Sea High Map

The Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) of UK has released regional maps and supporting data for the Mid North Sea High area.The data represent the latest delivery from the OGAā€™s Regional Geological Mapping project which has been carried out in collaboration with Lloydā€™s Register (LR) over the last three years.The OGA named LR in 2016 as its trusted supplier for the Regional Exploration Maps and Regional and Field Support Engineering Services bids for the UKCS. No Clear Route to 2020 Sulphur Cap Compliance -Survey

The route to compliance with the International Maritime Organization (IMO) 2020 0.5 percent global sulphur cap is unclear for many vessel operators, according to a marine industry survey conducted by ExxonMobil. Some 70 percent of respondents saying that they do not believe the industry is ready for the deadline, highlighting an ongoing sense of confusion and lack of preparedness. The makeup of the marine fuel mix in 2020 and beyond is an area of concern, with wide-ranging views from the industry on how the landscape will evolve.

DSME, Kongsberg Maritime Join Forces

DSME and Kongsberg Maritime have signed a Joint Development Agreement (JDA) for a new LNG FSRU regasification control system. As part of the delivery scope for a vessel currently under construction at the Okpo shipyard in South Korea, DSME will develop a High Fidelity Dynamic Simulator for the regasification plant. The JDA, which was signed on 29th November 2016, enables DSME to utilise Kongsberg Maritimeā€™s Dynamic Process Simulator ā€˜K-Spiceā€™ and the ā€˜K-Chiefā€™ automation and control system for the joint development of the vesselā€™s regasification control system. Both parties have extensive experience in the field of LNG vessel control systems. DSME is fast approaching delivery of 100 LNG ships, many of them operating with Kongsberg Maritimeā€™s LNG control system on board.

Romica Manufacturer Secures DNV GL Approval

U.K. winch maker Romica said it is to ā€œredouble its exports driveā€ after its Romania-based manufacturing partner successfully acquired accreditation with DNV GL. Yorkshire based Romica is a designer, manufacturer and supplier of lift equipment and winches for use within the marine, renewables, ports and terminals, oil and gas and oceanographic sectors. It provides a 24/7 build, repair and maintenance service worldwide with agents in South Korea, Taiwan, India and Spain. Wison to Build LNG Regasification Barge

Wison Offshore & Marine has announced  the award of a binding agreement with Vessel Gasification Solutions (VGS) of New Jersey, U.S.A., for the supply of the industry's first barge-based floating LNG regasification unit (FRU) to be installed offshore India. The FRU, which will be owned by VGS, will consist of a newbuild, non-propelled barge equipped to perform the regasification and send out of a maximum of 1,000MMscf/d of gas. The facility will be moored on a jetty structure located approximately 8km offshore Andhra Pradesh on India's eastern coastā€¦

L-3 SPD Electrical Systems Wins Medium Voltage Switchgear Contract

L-3 SPD Electrical Systems (L-3 SPDES) has been awarded a contract from Huntington Ingalls Industries Shipbuilding to supply the Medium Voltage Switchgear and the associated circuit breakers for the U.S. Navyā€™s latest amphibious assault ship, the LHA 7. The L-3 SPDES Medium Voltage Switchgear and circuit breakers provide the proven, compact, shock-tested power equipment needed to support electrical distribution for the shipā€™s services and operating requirements. L-3 SPDES is a trusted supplier, having provided similar power distribution products on all Nimitz-class carriers, as well as LHD 8 and LHA 6. Additionally, L-3 SPDES offers product support and maintenance through its depot repair facility.

Cavotec Wins Major Container Terminal Cable Reel Order

Cavotec wins major cable reel order for Sri Lanka container port. Cavotec has won a substantial order for power and spreader cable reels for ship-to shore (STS) container cranes from the worldā€™s largest port equipment manufacturer ZPMC. This project will see Cavotec electrical power and spreader cable reels fitted to 12 STS cranes for the China Merchant container terminal in the Port of Colombo, Sri Lanka. The cranes form an important element of the Colombo South Harbour Development Project, a $500-million initiative that is set to considerably enhance the capacity of Sri Lanka's main port. According to a report by the Xinhua news agency, the programme is the largest foreign direct investment project in Sri Lanka to date.

Hamworthy Lands IG Contract at Hyundai

Hamworthy has won a contract from South Koreaā€™s Hyundai Heavy Industries to supply its inert gas generator (IGG) package for the QUAD 204 FPSO project. The BP-operated FPSO is to be deployed some 110 miles to the west of the Shetland Isles in the North Atlantic as a replacement for the Schiehallion FPSO. Hamworthy will supply two sets of inert gas generator units, including two deck water seals, two control systems, two inert gas cleaners and two pressure vacuum breakers. Theā€¦
