Argeo Elevates its Game with Argeo Searcher Vessel Upgrade

Oslo-listed offshore service company Argeo said Friday it would upgrade its subsea vessel, Argeo Searcher, to expand its capabilities for the oil and gas subsea market and marine minerals seabed exploration."The vessel upgrade will be carried out at Fjellstrand, a company with a solid track record and experience in this type of projects. UXO Survey Kicks Off Along Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind Export Cable Route

U.S. offshore wind developer Dominion Energy is this week kicking off unexploded ordinance identification within the export cable corridor and the Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) lease area located offshore of Virginia Beach, Virginia.The U.S. Coast Guard said in a notice to mariners that the UXO works would start on or about April 25, 2023, and run until Fall 2023.The UXO Identification work will begin with the mobilization of the M/V Subsea Responder I, followed shortly by the M/V Subsea Responder II.

Middle River Marine Acquires Kindra Lake Towing

Mokena, Ill. based Middle River Marine, LLC announced it has struck a deal to acquire the assets of Chicago's Kindra Lake Towing LP.With the acquisition, Middle River will expand its affreightment, towing, fleeting and terminal services to customers on the Illinois Waterways, including Lake Michigan. Royal IHC and KSBL Sign Deal for CSD Builds in Bangladesh

Royal IHC and Karnafuly Ship Builders Ltd (KSBL) in Bangladesh have signed contracts for the design, engineering and hardware of four cutter suction dredgers (CSD). The four mono-pontoon custom-built CSDs (2x 700 mm and 2x 600 mm) will be built in Bangladesh by KSBL for Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) for maintenance dredging in Bangladesh. De Klerk Takes Delivery of Two Pontoons

Damen Shipyards Group has delivered two pontoons to De Klerk in Werkendam, the Netherlands. The delivery, which took place on January 8, consisted of a Stan Pontoon 4111 named Oosterschelde and a Stan Pontoon 3011 named Kreekrak.De Klerk placed the order with Damen on December 1, 2020. The delivery took place quickly thanks to Damen’s practice of building vessels in series. Congress recently made a major, if little noticed, new investment in American infrastructure. As part of the year-end budget deal, lawmakers released $10 billion that had been locked away in the Harbor Maintenance Tax Trust Fund to be used for its intended purpose: dredging U.S. harbors to keep our ports open and support U.S. economic and national security.Maritime infrastructure is an indispensable national asset, which is why the U.S. Department of Homeland Security recognizes the Maritime Transportation System (MTS) as one of the seven critical subsectors within the transportation system.

DNV GL Suspends Nord Stream 2 Pipeline Work for Fear of U.S. Sanctions

Norway's risk management and quality assurance firm DNV GL has suspended work on the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project led by Russia's Gazprom for fear of being sanctioned by the United States, it said on Thursday.Nord Stream 2 runs alongside the existing Nord Stream pipeline in the Baltic Sea and is designed to boost the amount of Russian gas that can be shipped to Europe without having to go through Ukraine.Washington wants to stop the project as it fears the pipeline would strengthen Russian President Vladimir Putin's economic and political influence over Europe.

US-based manufacturer Phoenix Lighting has introduced the Sturdilite Master Series - a low-voltage LED floodlight for installation on pilot, fire and patrol boats.The Master Series is IP69K rated and features a super heavy-duty, stainless steel harp to withstand significant and continuous shock and vibration. The durable yet compact fixture has been tested for frequency disturbances and was determined to not affect radio transmissions.The Master Series comes in two versions – 24W and 48W - that produces up to 2,500 and 5,000 lumens, respectively.

Gazprom Neft Completes Okhotsk Survey

Russian oil and gas exploration company Gazprom Neft has completed ecological monitoring of grey whale populations at the Ayashsky license block, offshore from Sakhalin Island, with expedition members registering more than 550 animals in the course of a five-month survey.According to a press release, the ecological monitoring of grey whales in the Sea of Okhotsk forms part of a joint programme being implemented by oil and gas companies operating in Sakhalin.
