Vietnam: FSO Golden Star Receives First Condensate

Malaysia Vietnam Offshore Terminal's FSO Golden Star has received the first condensate at the Sao Vang and Dai Nguyet (SVDN) Project offshore Vietnam.MVOT is a 51% MISC Berhad (MISC) owned joint venture with PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC). The condensate delivery milestone was achieved on November 16, 2020, MISC said Friday. Steinsvik Updates Its ShipConstructor Suite

Wärtsilä Opens Service Workshop in Vietnam

Wärtsilä Corporation opened a new, fully-equipped service workshop close to Saigon port in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. This is part of Wärtsilä's development of its business activities in the Vietnamese shipping, shipbuilding and power industries. Wärtsilä recently opened a new branch office in Hanoi. Wärtsilä has had a permanent presence in Vietnam since 1994 when it set up a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City. In 1998 Wärtsilä obtained a business licence to operate as a 100% foreign-owned service company and founded Wärtsilä Vietnam Co Ltd.

Wärtsilä Opens Office in Hanoi

Wärtsilä Corporation is expanding its representation in Vietnam by opening a branch office in Hanoi. Vietnam is a growing market for Wärtsilä's products and services to the shipping, shipbuilding and power industries. Wärtsilä has had a permanent presence in Vietnam since 1994 when it set up a representative office in Ho Chi Minh City. In 1998 Wärtsilä obtained a business license to operate as a 100% foreign-owned service company and founded Wärtsilä Vietnam Co. Ltd. The recent growth in world shipbuilding demand has led to the rise of Vietnam as a shipbuilding country and thus as a market for Wärtsilä products and services. Wärtsilä is already supplying engines and propulsion systems from its wide range of products for newbuildings at shipyards in Vietnam.

Wärtsilä Orders Propulsion Systems

Wärtsilä Corporation is gaining an increasing volume of business from Vietnam for ship propulsion systems. The latest contract to be awarded in April by Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) is for propulsion systems to be installed in five chemical tankers to be built for Iason Hellenic Shipping Co Ltd, Greece, at the Pha Rung shipyard in Haiphong. The equipment will be delivered during 2008-2010. Each vessel will be equipped by Wärtsilä with a five-bladed fixed-pitch propeller of 4.30m diameter, shafting, stern-tube including seals and bearings and an intermediate shaft bearing. A greater scope of supply will be delivered by Wärtsilä to Vinashin for eight car carriers to be built for Ray Car Carriers Ltd, Israel.
