Norwegian Joy Delivered for NCL

Norwegian Cruise Line took delivery of Norwegian Joy, the brand’s 15th ship and the first custom-designed for the Chinese cruise market, from Meyer Werft during an on board ceremony in Bremerhaven, Germany. The vessel is due to arrive in China in June. “As Norwegian Cruise Line continues our global growth, Norwegian Joy’s delivery marks a momentous occasion in our company’s history, signifying our official entry into the Chinese cruise market,” said Andy Stuart, president and chief executive officer for Norwegian Cruise Line.

Meyer Werft Floats Out Norwegian Joy

Norwegian Cruise Line’s first cruise ship custom designed for China has been floated out of Meyer Werft’s covered building dock II on March 4 in Papenburg, Germany, where the 168,800-gross-ton ship has been under construction since September 2015. Beginning early Saturday morning, the 3,850 passenger vessel, Norwegian Joy, departed building dock II. Now well on its way to completion, the 324-meter-long and 41.4-meter-wide Norwegian Joy will move into the final phase of construction ahead of its April 27, 2017 delivery.

Quantum of the Seas Delivered to Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean International took delivery today of the newest addition to the cruise line’s fleet, Quantum of the Seas, from Meyer Werft Yard, at an official signing ceremony in Bremerhaven, Germany attended by Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.’s Chairman and CEO Richard D. Fain and Meyer Werft Yard’s Managing Partner Bernard Meyer. With Captain Srecko “Felix” Ban at the helm, the ship will begin her journey today to Southampton, U.K., where she will welcome her first guests on November 2, for a trans-Atlantic voyage to her home port of Cape Liberty Cruise Port, Bayonne, New Jersey.

Royal Caribbean's Revitalization on 'Voyager of the Seas'

Breaking surf-report: a wave unlike any other is due to hit Australian shores this summer when the newly revamped Voyager of the Seas arrives for her cruising season starting this November. A multimillion-dollar investment will see Australia’s largest ship packed with even more amenities including the region’s first FlowRider surfing simulator, so guests can now ride the perfect wave at any time, even in the middle of the ocean. Voyager of the Seas’ month-long bow-to-stern makeover will add innovative cruising features similar to those found on the cruise line’s newest Quantum- and Oasis-class ships,  such as inside rooms with realtime virtual balconies, a 3D cinema, new dining options including a sushi restaurant and more, to give guests an unforgettable onboard experience.

As Royal Caribbean designed its new Quantum Class cruise ships, a key initiative was to enhance onboard entertainment and amenities. Royal Caribbean Reveals Quantum-Class

Royal Caribbean International unveiled first details of its next generation of cruise vacations – Quantum cruising. The details were unveiled by stage, television and film star, Kristin Chenoweth – Godmother of Quantum of the Seas – at an exclusive event for media and special guests in New York City.
