Australian oil and gas company Santos has awarded the FEED contract for the FPSO for the Dorado project offshore W. The first batch of topside modules has been shipped for a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) unit for Japan's MODEC, U.S.-based engineering and construction firm McDermott International said on Wednesday.The FPSO, named Miamte MV34, will be used on the Amoca and Mizton fields located in the Eni-operated Area 1 block, in the Campeche Bay approximately 10 kilometers off the coast of Mexico, in approximately 32 meters water depth. Qatar Petroleum (QP) signed an agreement with Italy’s Eni SpA to acquire a 35% stake in three offshore oil Fields in Mexico.The agreement cover the Amoca, Mizton, and Tecoalli offshore oil fields, which lie in Area 1 in Mexico’s Campeche Bay, said a press statement from the Arab country's government-owned energy company.The agreement is subject to customary regulatory approvals by the government of Mexico. Norwegian oil firm Okea is looking at four options to develop its North Sea North Sea Grevling oil discovery, which in turn could impact on the company's valuation in a deal with Thai investor Bangchak Corporation PCL (BCP), it said on Tuesday.BCP has agreed to invest 939 million Norwegian crowns ($112.25 million) in Okea to partly finance the company's 4.5 billion crowns acquisition of Royal Dutch Shell's stakes in the Draugen and Gjoea fields.Okea, which plans to list on the Oslo stock market in the next 12 months, said the deal between BCP and Okea's majority owner, private equity firm Seacrest Capital, values the Norwegian oil firm at 860 million Norwegian crowns.The valuation could fall, however, to 778 million crowns, or rise to 940 million, depending on whether or not the company is

Nearly two years ago GustoMSC introduced a smart crane for lifting and wireline operations under the drilling cantilever. Two years later, following industry feedback and further development, the equipment has evolved into Chela, named after the Greek word for a crab’s claw. Chela offers an extra hand in operations, and due to its crablike motion characteristics, it can reach below the cantilever as well as elevate towards the main deck, providing crane access to an area traditionally blocked by the cantilever when drilling.

A stricken jack-up has been removed from the Mexican seabed in close proximity to a well head platform, making for the largest wreck removal project completed in 2016. Weighing approximately 7,000 tons, the jack-up Troll Solution, contracted to operate in Pemex's Abkatun-Pol-Chuc shallow water oil field, experienced a debilitating accident while carrying out maintenance work on the wellhead platform CAAN-A in May 2015. Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG) has completed the project for the Culzean Wellhead jacket and Access Deck for client Maersk Oil. April 13 at Heerema Vlissingen, the Netherlands the Wellhead jacket and April 11 at Heerema Hartlepool, U.K. Wellhead Access Deck set sail to their final destination: the Ultra High Pressure High Temperature Culzean development field in the U.K. sector of the North Sea, where Heerema Marine Contractors will perform the installation. On October 21, 2014, Maersk Oil awarded HFG the Procurement & Construction contract for the Culzean Wellhead jacket, the Wellhead Access Deck and the Access ways. Heerema Vlissingen constructed the jacket, while the Wellhead Access Deck with the Access ways was constructed by Heerema Hartlepool.

Petrobas's FPSO P-63 has left the Quip/Honório Bicalho shipyard in the city of Rio Grande (RS) after the modules were integrated and the platform commissioned. With a capacity to process 140,000 barrels of oil/day and compress one million m3 of gas /day, the unit is going to the Papa-Terra field in the post-salt Campos Basin, operated by Petrobras (62.5%) in partnership with Chevron (37.5%). The P-63 was converted into an FPSO from the tanker BW Nisa, at the Cosco Shipyard in China. The unit arrived in Brazil in January this year for its final construction stages. Altogether 23 process plant modules were installed and interconnected.

Kvaerner say that Statoil has awarded it a concept study related to a standardised, unmanned dry tree wellhead platform for the Oseberg Future Development project. The concept is focused on minimisation of facilities, equipment and costs down to water depths of 150 meters and may be a cost effective solution compared to a conventional subsea tie-back solution. Kvaerner have already for some time worked on developing a cost efficient, standardised wellhead platform concept called "Subsea on a stick."  The new wellhead platforms could both increase recovery and utilise the new generations of jack-up drilling rigs, as well as reducing development costs.

ACO Marine announced it has signed a contract to supply a bespoke version of its new Clarimar MF wastewater treatment plant to the CFT 623 wellhead platform under construction for Dubai’s Dragon Oil. The specially adapted Clarimar MF-2 has capacity to treat 3.5 cubic meters of black and grey wastewater per day and features a sludge tank for liquid discharges from drilling operations. “The offshore oil and gas sector is an important market for ACO Marine,” said ACO Marine’s managing director Mark Beavis.

Singapore's offshore services provider Sembcorp Marine has won an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract worth over USD1 billion for the Culzean field development project in the North Sea. Sembcorp Marine subsidiary SMOE construction contract  will cover the topsides for the central processing facility, wellhead platform and utilities and living quarter platform, and two connecting bridges. The facility will installed in the UK sector of the Central North Sea. The three-platform complex will be installed in 90 m (295 ft) of water.
