Dutch MoD Shortlists Naval Group for Submarine

The Netherlands Ministry of Defence (MOD) has selected France's Naval Group to enter the next phase in the selection process for the Submarine Replacement program."Naval Group looks forward to entering an in-depth technical cooperation with DMO to conduct this joint-design phase in close association with the involved stakeholders. Royal IHC Launches TSHD River Thames

Dredging, Environmental and Marine Engineering NV (DEME) informed that its latest trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD) River Thames  was successfully launched at PaxOcean Graha, Batam in Indonesia.The TSHD, designed and build by Royal IHC, has a hopper capacity of 2,300m³ and a maximum dredging depth of 30 meters below the waterline, said a press release from Royal IHC, a supplier of equipment, vessels and services for the offshore, dredging and wet mining markets.The RiverThames is a copy of the 2,300m³ TSHD LESSE, successfully delivered by IHC to Baggerbedrijf de Boer in August. The vessel is designed to maintain sea and inland waterways, as well as perform land reclamation.It is equipped with the latest electronic system to improve positioning, sounding and execution of dredging work.

Royal IHC Bags NMDC Deal

Netherlands-based Royal IHC recently signed a contract with National Marine Dredging Company (NMDC, based in Abu Dhabi, UAE) to build yet another trailing suction hopper dredger (TSHD).The supplier of innovative and efficient equipment, vessels and services for the offshore, dredging and wet mining markets said in a press release that the new vessel builds on the excellent partnership & collaboration between the two companies and on the success of the 6,000m³ TSHD ARZANA, which was delivered by IHC in 2018.In addition, IHC will deliver the first TSHD simulator to the Middle East, further allowing NMDC to develop & strengthen its excellent…

Royal IHC Acquires KCI from Oceanteam

Dutch supplier of vessels, equipment and services for the offshore, dredging and wet mining markets Royal IHC said it has acquire all of the outstanding share capital of Dutch based engineering and consultancy company KCI the Engineers B.V. from Dutch-Norwegian offshore service provider Oceanteam ASA. IHC said it plans to maintain KCI as an independent brand and operating company which will continue to serve external clients while also working on IHC projects. Diederik van Rijn, IHC Group Executive Director, said, “The acquisition KCI fits within the overall strategy of IHC to further develop into a provider of knowledge and technology based services and products.

Dredger Shipbuilding Yard Gets Dutch Royal Accolade

Historic Dutch specialist shipyard IHC Merwede says it has been awarded the honorary title of Koninklijk (Royal) by the His Majesty the King. In light of this honour, the company has decided to change its name to Royal IHC and will also include the royal crown in its revised corporate identity. The company explains that the Royal title is an award granted to companies or organisations that meet certain conditions. To qualify, the nominated company must have been in existence for at least 100 years and should have prestige with regard to its image, size and reliability. It must be of national importance to and have prominence in The Netherlands – preferably with an international outlook – and the size of the company…

Indofin Acquires Majority Stake in IHC Merwede

Indofin Group, the investment company, owned by the De Bruin family, has acquired a majority shareholding of 62% in IHC Merwede. Rabo Capital (10%) and IHC Merwede management and staff (28%) are the other principal shareholders. Indofin has obtained this significant stake in IHC Merwede by partially taking out each of its coshareholders. Indofin’s Chairman, Cees de Bruin, said, “We have already been a shareholder of this great company for eight years and we are in full support of the current direction that continues to pay off.
