Volvo Ocean Race Legends Gather

The Volvo Ocean Race will celebrate 45 years of history with a Legends Race on the final leg of the 2017-18 edition from Gothenburg to The Hague, says a press statement. Any yacht to have featured in the Whitbread Round the World Race or Volvo Ocean Race, dating back to 1973-74, will be welcome to join the 2018 Legends Race. The race will be run over the same course, and around the same time, as the closing leg of the Volvo Ocean Race 2017-18, which starts from Gothenburg on 21 June. Imtech Marine Becomes RH Marine Group

The new RH Marine Group, formerly known as Imtech Marine was introduced at the Europort exhibition in Rotterdam today. Following the recent acquisition by Parcom Capital and Pon Holdings, Imtech Marine will now be known as RH Marine Group, built on the roots of founding companies Radio Holland and van Rietschoten & Houwens. The two ‘pillars’ for service and newbuild activities within Imtech Marine are also involved in the new naming structure. Global NavCom, Connectivity, On Board ICT service and maintenance brand Radio Holland will keep its name but will have a new logo.

Lamprell Delivers Wind Turbine Installation Vessel 'Bold Tern'

The Wind Turbine Installation Vessel Windcarrier 2 has been delivered to Fred Olson from Lamprell's Jebel Ali UAE facility. The vessel will depart to its operating location in the North Sea shortly. With this delivery, the Group has now completed a total of five new build offshore wind turbine installation vessels with a sixth vessel currently under construction. Aside from the two Fred Olsen vessels, three others were delivered to Seajacks with one more, the "Hydra", under construction.

UAE Shipyard Wins Offshore Rig Contract

Lamprell signs contract to build & equip a LeTourneau designed, self-elevating Mobile Offshore Drilling Platform. The mobile platform is to a Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design, for operation in water depths of up to 350 feet and will have a rated drilling depth of 30,000 feet. Lamprell will fabricate the jackup rig in its yard in Hamriyah. The construction phase of this project is expected to take approximately 18 months. This is the second rig that Lamprell will construct for the Singapore-based Jindal Group. As part of the contract, Jindal has an option for Lamprell to build a further jackup rig, exercisable during a period of 6 months from the effective date of the contract.

UAE-based Lamprell Leadership Shake-up

Lamprell, provider of diversified engineering & contracting services to the onshore and offshore oil & gas industries makes sweeping Board changes. Nigel McCue is standing down as Chief Executive and as a director of the Company. Peter Whitbread, former Chief Executive who was with Lamprell from 1992 until 2009, has been appointed as Interim Chief Executive and will join the Board with immediate effect. Jon Cooper, Chief Financial Officer and Chris Hand, Chief Operating Officer, are also standing down as directors but will remain with the Company in order to ensure continuity in senior roles until such time as suitable replacements are recruited.

David Greenwood brings to Hutton’s a wealth of experience having been responsible for running international logistics and supply operations for almost 20 years. He has been responsible for start-ups, growth and change management and operations for companies such as UPS Supply Chain Solutions, Tibbett & Britten and Whitbread.
