Marcelo Penna, Safeway Design Trimaran SOV for Offshore Wind Sector

Spanish engineering company Marcelo Penna Engineering and the Dutch offshore gangway specialist Safeway have designed what they say is "an intelligent Service Operation Vessel" for the offshore wind industry."The outcome of the collaboration is the DP2 MP625 SOV combined with the recently introduced Safeway Gannet 3D motion-compensated offshore access system with its unique features such as ‘zero impact bumpering’ or ‘hover-mode’ and roll compensation capability" Safeway said in a statement.According to the two companies…

Safeway: New Motion Compensated Gangway

The Van Aalst Group has introduced a new motion compensated gangway system under the brand name Safeway. Developed and built in the Netherlands, the Safeway gangway bridge makes it possible for vessels to land at a broad range of offshore constructions, varying from small unmanned installations in the Southern North Sea to large offshore production units in the Northern North Sea. The first Safeway unit is currently under construction under Bureau Veritas class, with the first Safeway unit expected to be available for the rental market by the end of 2015.

Van Aalst Brings Platform-fitted CargoMaxx to Houston

Van Aalst Marine & Offshore, inventors of the multi application tank system CargoMaxx, have opened an office in Houston, TX. CargoMaxx is swiftly gaining ground in the offshore support sector, allowing supply vessels to deliver dry cargo to a platform and carry drill cuttings to shore in the very same tanks. Van Aalst is looking to extend the concept to offshore platforms for space-saving, below deck bulk storage of drill cuttings.
