Tata Steel Showcases Deepwater Pipeline Solutions at OTC
Tata Steel will demonstrate at this yearâs Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston May 6-9, 2013. Tata Steelâs pipeline packages include double submerged arc welded (DSAW) line pipe, manufactured at the 42-inch mill in Hartlepool, which the manufacturer claims is equipped with the strongest edge crimping and âOâ press combination in the world. This enables the manufacture of thicker wall DSAW pipes even in smaller diameters for withstanding the extreme collapse pressures in the deepest waters.
Gulf of Mexico Pipeline Contract for Technip
Technip wins Discovery System lump sum pipeline installation contract for Discoveryâs South Timbalier Block 283 Junction Platform project. David Dickson, Technipâs Senior Vice President, North America Region, declared: âThis award is the largest-diameter pipelay contract for Technip in the Gulf of Mexico, thanks to the acquisition of Global Industries. The pipelines will be installed between existing facilities in South Timbalier 280 and Ewing Bank 873 and the new platform in Block 283, at water depths ranging from 83 to 244 meters. ⢠13.9 kilometers of 30â pipeline. Technip's operating center in Houston, Texas will perform the overall project management and engineering. Offshore installation will be performed in 2013 with the G1200 as the primary installation vessel for all pipelay.
Spar Hull Installation Contract for McDermott
McDermott awarded Gulf of Mexico Spar hull installation contract for Williams Partners. McDermott International, Inc. announce that one of its subsidiaries has been awarded a contract by Williams Partners L.P. for transportation and installation services for a Spar hull in the Gulf of Mexico. McDermott will transport and install the Gulfstar FPS GS-1 Spar hull and moorings. Located approximately 150 miles offshore, the Spar platform is destined for the Gulf of Mexicoâs Mississippi Canyon and will sit in approximately 4,200 feet of water. McDermottâs recently improved DB50 vessel will install the moorings before transporting the classic-design Spar hull to the installation site where it will be upended and ballasted before installing a temporary work deck.
Tata Steel Secures Gulf of Mexico Contract
Tata Steel has been awarded a major contract worth more than £100 million to provide pipe for Discovery Producer Services L.L.C. (Discovery) gas pipeline in Keathley Canyon, Gulf of Mexico. Discovery is a 60:40 joint venture between Williams Partners L.P. and DCP Midstream Partners L.P. The company will supply Discoveryâs Keathley Canyon ConnectorTM with 214 miles (345km) of 20-inch diameter submerged arc welded linepipe, weighing more than 110,000 metric tonnes. The pipe will be manufactured at Tata Steelâs 42-inch mill in Hartlepool, England.
