Ward Leonard Acquires Mawdsley’s Motors

Ward Leonard Electric Company, a high-performance electronics engineering and manufacturing company, has completed its acquisition of Mawdsley’s Motors of Waterwells, England. Mawdsley’s is an internationally renowned design engineering and manufacturing firm with expertise in specialty motors for military and heavy industrial applications.

In addition to creating military-spec qualified motors for the United States Navy and the British Royal Navy, Mawdsley’s also provides motors for the petrochemical industry and specialty industrial markets.

“The acquisition of Mawdsley’s will accelerate Ward Leonard's growth as a cross-Atlantic powerhouse for design and production of specialty motors and controls for military and commercial markets,” said Jon Carter, President of Ward Leonard. “Mawdsley’s motor line will be added to Ward Leonard’s already impressive array of motors, resulting in greater variety for our customers and increased innovation through shared technologies.”
