51 Awarded Scholarships by Singapore Maritime Industry

A total of 51 scholarships worth more than S$1.4 million were awarded this year, as part of continuous outreach and talent development efforts to meet the manpower needs of the growing Singapore maritime industry - an area which contributes to some 7 per cent of the nation's economy. Sponsored by maritime companies and organisations, the MaritimeONE (Maritime Outreach NEtwork) scholarships and Tripartite Maritime Scholarship Scheme (TMSS) support various local and overseas diploma and degree programmes. In all, 40 MaritimeONE and 11 TMSS scholarships were presented at the MaritimeONE Scholarship Awards Ceremony held at the M Hotel Singapore this evening.

MES Delivers Nord Bright Bulk Carrier

Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES) completed and delivered a 56,000 dwt type bulk carrier M.V. Nord Bright (MES Hull No. 1783) at its Chiba Works on April 22, 2010 to Norden Shipping (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Singapore. This vessel is a handy-max type bulk carrier of 56,000 dwt with a huge cargo hold capacity over 70,000m3 and marks the 102nd ship of its series. This 56,000 dwt type bulk carrier series of MES is widely called Mitsui’s 56. More than 150 units of this series have been ordered from MES. Service Speed     approx..

MV Port Elisabeth Delivered by MES

Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. (MES) completed and delivered a 56,000 dwt type bulk carrier MV Port Elisabeth (MES Hull No. 1736) at its Tamano Works on 9th November, 2009 to Norden Shipping (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Singapore.
