Total Customs Services Improves Operations

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

April 16, 2013

Descartes Systems Group, a global leader in uniting logistics-intensive businesses in commerce, announced that Total Customs Services is successfully using Descartes' cloud-based Canadian Customs Brokerage solution to improve shipment management, customs filing, security compliance, accounting and customer service operations.

The solution also enables Total Customs Services to effectively collaborate with customers to electronically transmit the advance importer data required by the Canada Border Services Agency's (CBSA) Advance Commercial Information (ACI) eManifest program.

Descartes' cloud-based Canadian Customs Brokerage solution is an enterprise-class application that handles the functions that a customs broker, freight forwarder or self-filing importer uses to manage their operations. These functions include shipment management, accounting, financial reports, document imaging, e-billing, and tools for tracking, reporting and data entry. The solution leverages the power of Descartes' Global Logistics Network (GLN), which enables brokers to seamlessly connect electronically to shippers, carriers and regulatory authorities around the world. To improve filing accuracy and customer responsiveness, Descartes is providing Total Customs Solutions with an easy-to-configure, user friendly, web-based collaboration platform to share with its customers to jointly complete and view eManifest filings.
