SulNOx, LR Join Forces to Promote SulNOxEco Fuels

SulNOx Fuel Fusions Plc. (SulNOx), the leading global producer and supplier of fuel emulsion technology, and Lloyd’s Register (LR), a leading technical, business services organisation and maritime classification society, today signed an agreement that will see LR provide verification, testing, technical support and consultancy services throughout the process of SulNOxEco Fuels’ commercial deployment. The agreement will see LR provide a stringent technical assessment of SulNOxEco Fuels, verifying its operational suitability for users of hydrocarbon fuels and providing recommendations on the most effective application of the technology to secure optimum fuel and environmental savings.

Iran's Oil Exports Fall in April

Iran's oil exports fell in April for a second month, according to sources who track tanker movements, moving closer to levels allowed by November's interim deal on curbing Tehran's nuclear program. The decline may reflect seasonally lower crude oil demand and U.S. pressure on some customers take less. Signs of higher Iranian sales since late 2013 have led to concern in Washington that a softening of sanctions has given Tehran's economy a boost. "It looks like India has imported less in April - that could be due to a combination of more pressure from the United States and also lower crude demand at this time of year by Indian buyers," a tanker-tracking source said.

Adams, Chief Executive of IBIA

Ian Adams has been appointed the first ever Chief Executive of the International Bunker Industry Association (IBIA) following the decision to change from a 25-member Council of Management to an executive structure headed by a Board of Directors. Adams was formerly Secretary-General of IBIA which, since its formation in 1993, has been governed by a Council of Management. The decision to restructure was unanimously agreed by members at the IBIA convention in Cape Town in November last year.

Sea Tow Services International Continues U.S. Expansion

Sea Tow Services International, Inc. has expanded the company’s franchise program into seven new regions, one of which extends Sea Tow’s footprint into the state of Michigan. Three of the areas are also in lake regions, which remain important geographical targets for Sea Tow. The new Sea Tow Services coverage areas include Lake Erie (OH), Eastern Lake Michigan (MI), Lake George (NY), Trenton/Severn (Ontario), Solomons (MD) and Lake Gaston and Albemarle Sound (both in NC). “This is the second major expansion announcement for Sea Tow this year,” explains Captain Tim Wilson, National Corporate Representative for Sea Tow Services International.
