Rimfrost Taps Kongsberg for Krill Vessel Design and Equipment
RLS PhotoNorway-based krill extraction and processing company Rimfrost has awarded Kongsberg Maritime a contract to design and equip a new 120-meter krill harvesting vessel destined for operations in Antarctica.The vessel will be built by Westcon in Norway, and Tersan Shipyard in Turkey. Westcon will complete the vessel at its facility in Norway after initial construction at the Tersan Shipyard in Turkey.

Cheoy Lee Delivers First of Two New Tugs for Yiu Lian Dockyards
The first tug of a two vessel contract, Hai Kun, built by Cheoy Lee Shipyards, was delivered to Yiu Lian Dockyards Ltd., Hong Kong on July 15, 2020.This delivery marks the 21st vessel built and delivered by Cheoy Lee of the Robert Allan Ltd. RAstar 3200-CL design. Unique modifications were implemented to this hull to accommodate both the owner’s selected Niigata propulsion package and the required escort capability of the tug.
MacGregor to Equip US Navy's T-ATS Vessels
MacGregor, part of Cargotec, said it has secured an order to provide deck handling solutions to two towing, salvage and rescue ships (T-ATS) class vessels to be built at Gulf Island Shipyards, a subsidiary of Gulf Island Fabrication.MacGregor's scope of supply includes deck machinery, towing winch, traction winch, shark jaws, towing pins/pop-up pins, stern roller, offshore crane and other accessories.
Outfitting Phase Set to Start for Nexans Aurora Cable Layer
Norway's Ulstein is set to begin the outfitting phase of the Nexans Aurora, a large, DP3, cable laying vessel (CLV) Nexans ordered from Ulstein in 2018.The Nexans Aurora hull arrived Ulstein Verft on Monday, June 15, 2020, after having been built at CRIST, Poland. The hull will now be towed into the dock hall at Ulstein Verft before activities such as outfitting, electrical work, insulation, and piping start.
