South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard hosted a naming ceremony for the 15,000 TEU LNG dual-fuel vessel Zim Sammy Ofer.The Zim Sammy Ofer is the first of 10 vessel ordered in a long-term chartering agreement between ZIM and Seaspan Corporation. Wärtsilä to Make CBO Flamengo Brazil's First PSV Fitted with a Battery Pack
Brazilian offshore support vessel operator CBO has tasked maritime equipment manufacturer Wärtsilä, based in Finland, to convert one of its offshore vessels to operate with hybrid propulsion. The vessel selected for the upgrade is the 2012-built platform supply vessel CBO Flamengo. According to Wärtsilä, the CBO Flamengo will be the first vessel in Brazil and Latin America to be fitted with a battery pack for hybrid propulsion.
Saipem Buys Solstad's Norce Endeavour Vessel
Italian oilfield services company Saipem has agreed to buy Solstad Offshore's lay barge vessel DLN Norce Endeavour.Saipem had in December 2019, chartered the vessel from Solstad Offshore. The charter included an option for Saipem to acquire the vessel."Saipem has now decided to declare the purchase option for DLB Norce Endeavour. Delivery of the vessel to Saipem is scheduled to April 2020," Norway-based Solstad Offshore said Friday.Solstad did not disclose the sale price of the vessel.
