Grounded Vessel Refloated without Pollution
U.S. Coast Guard Sector San Juan and Resident Inspection Office St. Croix crews are assessing the condition of the 221-foot cargo ship MV Commander, after it successfully refloated Saturday afternoon from Round Reef, where it grounded Friday night just outside Christiansted Harbor in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. The Commander is safely anchored in the vicinity of Protestant Cay in Christiansted. Initial underwater assessments have identified that the Commanderās two rudders are missing.

Historic Tug Raised by Global Diving & Salvage
Built in 1945, the 141-foot steam powered tugboat was utilized by the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railroads. Originally named the Edward J Engel, it moved railroad car barges from Oakland to San Francisco until 1969. After which she passed through several hands and eventually her name was changed to TV āRespectā. She remained a steam powered vessel till 2007, when she sank at her moorings in the Oakland Estuary.
USCG: M/V Orsula successfully refloated, no pollution or injuries
The Coast Guard oversaw the successful refloating of the motor vessel Orsula, which was completed Sunday. The Orsula, a 656-foot Marshall Islands flagged ship, ran aground in the vicinity of Tibbets Point in the St. Lawrence Seaway, Christmas Day. At about 5:50 p.m., response personnel from Coast Guard Marine Safety Detachment Massena, N.Y., reported the successful refloating of the vessel to prevention branch personnel at Coast Guard Sector Buffalo, N.Y.

The Coast Guard has responded to a collision between two barges in the vicinity of Sieverās Cove on Bolivar Peninsula, in the Intracoastal Waterway. Barges Collide in Corpus Christi Ship Channel
Coast Guard marine inspectors are investigating and monitoring the repair of two barges that collided early Tuesday morning in the Corpus Christi Ship Channel near Ingleside.
