Jensen Develops 2 New LNG Bunker Barge Concepts
Jensen Maritime Consultants, Inc., a naval architecture and marine engineering firm owned by Crowley Maritime Corp., has developed two new liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunker barge concepts. The two new fully customizable concepts aim to offering customers maximum flexibility and improved safety features, the designer said. The first concept involves outfitting an existing barge with an above-deck LNG tank.

Webb Institute Picks Crowley Scholarship Recipients

ABS' Tikka Gives Commencement Speech at UC Berkeley

Construction Starts on Crowley’s 2nd LNG ConRo Ship
Shipbuilder VT Halter Marine, Inc. has officially started the construction of Taíno, the second of two liquefied natural gas (LNG)-powered, combination container – Roll-On/Roll-Off (ConRo) ships for the Crowley Maritime Corp.’s liner services group. VT Halter Marine and Crowley entered into a contract for the pair of ships in November 2013 and construction began on the second ship with the first steel plate cutting in Pascagoula, Miss., this morning.

The maiden voyage of Crowley Liner Services’ new flat-deck barge will end on Monday when the barge is scheduled to arrive in San Juan with a full 400-load delivery.
