Raytheon Anschütz Makes Landmark Delivery
Raytheon Anschütz, a German-based navigation system supplier, delivers its 15,000th Standard 22 Gyro Compass in June 2014. Onboard the superyacht Esmeralda the jubilee compass will replace an old Anschütz Standard 4 Gyro Compass which has been in operation for more than 30 years. The new generation of the Anschütz Gyro Compass – Standard 22 – was presented 10 years ago at SMM in Hamburg. Today, approximately 1,800 Standard 22 compasses are sold per year.

Eastern Launches another Hornbeck Offshore Vessel
Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. announced the launching of the HOS BLACK ROCK (Hull 207) on Friday March 28, 2014 for Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC. The HOS BLACK ROCK is Eastern’s third vessel in Hornbeck Offshore’s HOSMAX 310 class series. The launching event was held at Eastern’s Allanton facility with hundreds of Eastern Employees and Guests attending despite rainy weather. Attending from Hornbeck was Bill Krewsky, Director of Engineering and Project Management.
NAVTOR Signs E-Navigation Agreement with DOF
E-navigation specialist NAVTOR has signed a landmark fleet agreement with DOF Management, the owner and operator of 78 advanced offshore service vessels. The deal will see NAVTOR’s innovative and user-friendly ENC service rolling out across DOF’s high-end CSVs, PSVs and AHTS vessels [Construction Support Vessels (CSVs), Platform Support Vessels (PSVs) and Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessels (AHTS)], which operate in all key oil and gas regions worldwide.
ASL to Build Six Offshore Service Vessels
Singapore-based ASL Marine Holdings Ltd. say that its wholly-owned subsidiary, ASL Shipyard Pte Ltd (“ASLS”), has secured new shipbuilding contracts worth approximately S$97-million for the construction of six vessels. • Four Anchor Handling Tug/ Multi-Purpose Supply Vessels. Tidewater Elects Industry Notable, Robert L. Potter, to Board
OSV fleet owners Tidewater have elected the recently retired President of FMC Technologies, Robert L. Potter to join its Board of Directors for a term beginning December 1, 2013 and expiring in July 2014. Robert L. Potter will retire from his position as President of FMC Technologies, Inc. on November 30, 2013, a position he has held since August 2012, following 40 years of service with the company. Mr. Potter joined FMC Technologies in 1973 after his graduation from Rice University.
Wärtsilä's Ballast Water System Earns USCG AMS Acceptance
Wärtsilä has been granted Alternate Management System (AMS) acceptance for its AQUARIUS UV Ballast Water Management System (BWMS) by the United States Coastguard (USCG). This allows all U.S. and foreign flag ships fitted with the Wärtsilä AQUARIUS UV BWMS to operate in U.S. territorial waters and to discharge its treated ballast water for an interim period of up to five years from the ship specific implementation date. AMS acceptance is the first stage towards obtaining full USCG type approval.

Eastern Shipbuilding Group, Inc. announce that on Thursday October 10, 2013, the M/V HOS Red Rock (Hull 202) was delivered to Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC.
