Autonomous Systems Competition Enters Final Phase

The final phase of a competition to develop novel adaptive autonomous ocean sampling network (AAOSN) management systems for the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is now underway. Two UK consortia will move forward to develop systems capable of coordinating a suite of marine autonomous vehicles gathering data from the ocean over periods of months, and tracking and sampling dynamic features. Bluefin Acquires SeeByte

Bluefin Robotics, a provider of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs), announced that it has acquired SeeByte, Ltd., a provider of autonomous platform software that enhances the user experience and the capabilities of underwater sensors, vehicles and systems. SeeByte, headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland, will operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bluefin. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. BAE, Seebyte Sign Deal for Autonomous Maritime Ops

BAE Systems and SeeByte Ltd of Edinburgh, Scotland have signed a Cooperation Agreement to pursue business opportunities associated with the UK’s Mine Counter Measure (MCM), Hydrography and Patrol Capability (MHPC) Program. BAE Systems Mission Systems and SeeByte have identified a shared vision for the managed introduction of autonomous computing into future military mission systems through the exploitation of ‘open’ or modular, yet secure, architectures. Thus they intend to work together to develop fully integrated MCM mission systems offering innovative, flexible and adaptable solutions for the adoption of unmanned systems into future MCM operations. These will be designed to minimise human operator load whilst providing maximum operational support to the Command Team.

SeeByte Ltd. Announces New Appointments

SeeByte Ltd., a Scottish software product company announces two new appointments to its technologies team based in Edinburgh. New Zealand Navy Orders AUV CAD/CAC

SeeByte Ltd. ordered additional Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) sidescan embedded mine Computer Aided Detection and Classification (CAD/CAC) system to the Royal New Zealand Navy (RNZN), Wellington, New Zealand. SeeByte’s SeeTrack Military software provides a situation awareness solution that helps personnel conducting maritime mine countermeasures(MCM) operations to plan missions and build a single integrated picture of the operational environment by processing data from a wide variety of assets.
