Ardmore Shipping Corporation took delivery of the newbuild product and chemical tanker vessel Ardmore Seafox on June 25, 2015, the company announced today.

The 49,999 dwt, Eco-design IMO 3 tanker was built at Korea's SPP Shipbuilding Co., Ltd Sacheon Shipyard and is the second in a series of four SPP newbuilds scheduled to be delivered to Ardmore in 2015, following the delivery of sister ship Ardmore Sealion on May 26.

The addition of Ardmore Seafox increases the number of Ardmore vessels on the water to 20 with a total tonnage of 819,519 DWT. The Marshall Islands flagged ship has commenced initial employment in the Ardmore fleet, and her technical management will be provided by Univan Ship Management Ltd.

Commenting on the delivery, Ardmore CEO Anthony Gurnee said, “We are delighted to welcome the Ardmore Seafox to our rapidly expanding operating fleet during a time when the charter market for modern MR product and chemical tankers remains at multi-year highs. We thank SPP Shipbuilding for their hard work in constructing this high-quality vessel, and we look forward to taking delivery of a further four vessels scheduled for delivery under our newbuilding program this year.”

“The addition of the Ardmore Seafox realizes our continued commitment to incorporating high quality, modern and efficient vessels to our fleet,” added Mark Cameron, Ardmore Shipping’s COO. “As with the Ardmore Sealion, the Ardmore Seafox is a high quality eco-design Ardmore vessel, fully equipped with a variety of fuel-saving measures including Skysails technology and offering the highest standards of performance for our customers. With an average age of under 4.5 years, the Ardmore fleet is among the youngest in the industry.”
