CSU-Long Beach, SpecTec Exchange Students

Long Beach SpecTec CEO and CFO have been hosted by California State University Long Beach (CSULB), to discuss a cooperation agreement with the University. The meeting was arranged by Daniela Rapattoni, of the New Center for Cultural Research and Universities Studies in Italy, an organization sponsored by the Bank of La Spezia. Together with Giampiero Soncini, SpecTec CEO, and Stefano Foti, SpecTec CFO, were Lorenzo Forcieri, Senator of the Italian Parliament, Marco Simonetti, Managing Director of Contship La Spezia (one of the largest port container terminals of Italy)…

SpecTec Sponsors ONMA Competition

On November 6th, 2008, SpecTec participated in the awards ceremony for the “Best Cadet in AMOS” Competition at Odessa National Maritime Academy in Ukraine. The ceremony kicked off with a speech from ONMA management on the importance of Asset Management Operating System (AMOS) courses. SpecTec CFO, Stefano Foti, also expressed the importance of the cooperation between SpecTec and ONMA. The award ceremony took place at the Central Academy Hall. The program also included a welcome speech by Alexander Donchuk, SpecTec Ukraine, with his introduction to AMOS2 EMS. The ONMA is the largest Maritime Academy in the Ukraine. As part of the agreement, SpecTec will sponsor the annual competition among the cadets at ONMA.

AMOS Software Group Sold

The AMOS software division of Xantic has been acquired from the Dutch telephone group, KPN, by an international group of investors, including members of the previous management. The contract was signed in Amsterdam on May 4, 2005, after negotiations of less than a month. The buyout was led by Giampiero Soncini who said, “We are very happy that AMOS is back with the management that grew the company and understand the AMOS software and the need to develop it and support for the shipowners and managers around the world.” Mr. Soncini will be the company’s new CEO, supported by Stefano Foti as CFO. The company will revert to the original name of SpecTec, which is already widely known.
